Look….getting an Edgun is very much like getting laid. Some guys seem to have all the luck, others couldn’t get it if they paid full market price!
It is what it is…quit with the date comparing and let Ed’s process take it course. We don’t even know exactly how he gets the stuff here, and no one needs to ask.
Most of you know that Ed loves me like his own son….and I didn’t get an Email either. I thought about calling Uncle Tony, but I figured why take a chance on pissing him off. I don’t know how he maintains that list. It may be a spreadsheeet, or just in his head….who cares?
If any of you want me to send an email to Uncle Tony, and put in a good word for one of you mutts…let me know.

Tony is the US importer and is the only source for Edguns in the US.
The designation R2, R2.5 R3 ect has nothing to do with “model year”.
The first Matadors that Tony got in for sale were R2.5s. The only pics of an R2 that I have seen are in the owners manual that comes with a Matador. The R2s had an external safety and the hammer housing is different.
The R3s did away with the barrel breech end O ring, the barrel now screws into the front breech block, the scope rail mounting is different and the shroud baffle nut puts the barrel in tension when it is tightened. The R3s also have a LW barrel that is made to Ed’s specs.
I think that the R3s are a big improvement over the R2.5s. The barrel can’t come loose and blow the breech end O ring out. The tensioned barrel, made to Ed’s specs, makes for a more accurate gun. At least my stock R3 25 cal long was more accurate than my tuned and modded R2.5 25 long, with a BSA barrel.
Next week, I will see how the R3 22 long does.

I’m not sure how all this works, so I tell you my story.
After asking a bunch of stupid questions here about R2, R2.5, R3 I finally figured out they were like model year number on cars, 2009,2011,2012.
I did not know that..dumb hu.
Then looking at the Edgun website, no mention of a .25 cal Edgun, none no mention at all, 3-4 emails to Tony..and yes they make a .25
All the information I had read pointed to Tony R. as the MAN! Get on the list, wait months for a gun. Emailed Tony, got on the list, expecting to pay either all or at least a few hundred down payment.
Nope, no pay now get later, No down payment, nothing, now on list.
I was not particular, .25 long or .22 long, Wood or black, makes no diff to me. I did not even pick the gun told Tony to pick, which ever is better at 100yards…U pick..Tony picked the .22. I’m fine with that.
Why you went through Mac1 to get an Edgun is a surprise to me.
I was not aware that Mac1 was a reseller of the Edguns.
I don’t know how the distribution channels work. Stop and think about it, No Edguns last year, and a mear 44 in this shipment. Perhaps Tony chose to fill some people on his list, before he sent them to places like Mac1 at a volume discounted price. Perhaps Mac1 did not get any, I don’t know.
I do in fact agree with you, you have every right to call Mac1 and ask about it, I would be pissed too. You paid 9 months in advance, but Mac1 may or may not even have any.
I think you just got on the wrong list…Mac1’s instead of Tony R’s.
If you do call Mac1, well be nice, they may not have even gotten any.
I have no problem waiting.Am I curious sure,who isn`t but the main
reason is I`m a disabled vet on a fixed income and will definetly have

I did the process, called a few times, was never yelled at, not once, in fact it was quite the opposite. But then again I didn’t say a bunch of shit that might piss him off without realizing I was saying shit…
And it didn’t take nine months.
