From no plans on getting one to in my hands in 5 days. 🙂 Hawke Sidewinder 8-32×56 arrived too and nearly 200 bar of Russian/Estonian air! 😆 Ok – Ed I need a few T-Shirts…. 😎 It’s lighter than I thought it would be. Manuf date 2/23/2013. Excellent packaging. The gun is flawless physically as far as what I can see w/o disassembly.

Ted’s .25 Edgun video made a believer out of me. I tried Predators for the first time today in my Std Matador .25 after remembering Ted’s comments on his review of the .25 Long and wow. They do every bit as well as the JSB Kings at 50Y. I only have about 150 pellets in total through the gun so far. If I had this gun when I was a kid rabbits and birds would be extinct in northern Illinois.

…do we know where his production setup is at? russia or estonia? last i heard he was moving everything to estonia. also heard still producing in russia and sending to estonia for distribution.
just wish he’d ALSO start production in the U.S.! a good chunk of these gun’s price tags are in fees associated with foreign red tape and shipping across the pond 🙄

I know absolutely nothing about air guns until I ran across teds holdover on youtube. I was introduced to the gun called an edgun matador in a .22 cal. After he stated the price of the gun I thought “crazy”! Well, I bought one from Tony; R3 standard .25. I would appreciated any tips on setting up the gun, if required, maintenance and shooting. I am pretty good with directions however the information booklet is in russian. Thanks
The trigger had a long 1st stage and came set at about 9 ozs. A bit too light for me. I put it up to 12 like the Cricket and Air Ranger and shortened the first stage.
The Edgun has taken first blood in the form of two sparrows. They felt no pain at 50 FPE. 50 FPE is nice because it actuates all of my .22 LR reactionary targets – even the heavy ones. Raccoons, opossums, armadillos, and coyotes beware.
Next is to do a shot string. I think the velocity is about right for my use at 930 FPS avg with kings. So far accuracy is impressive and the trigger really helps. I need to shoot it a lot now….. :4: and break it in.
The scope mount is positioned differently on each gun. I measure from the back of the stock to the eyepiece to set the scopes for my comfort. You can see the Edgun has about 1/4″ more gap (even more comfortable for me) from the top of the receiver to the bottom of the eyepiece.
I have a Vortex scope level arriving today that goes in the gap ahead of the front ring on the tube.

Could you take a pic of what your edgun looks like with the hawke mounted to it with the high rings.
I am about 6′ and find the highs are more comfortable for me. The Edgun receiver is about 1/4″ lower relative to the Crickets with the wood cover but I am using highs on both.

Yes on the cant being a bit overboard.
I was going to mention that might be the problem as i ran into the same issue.
Hopefully getting back 20 MOA via Burris Signature Zee rings will do the trick.
The cant is a good idea over enthusiastically implemented.
Hey coda what ring hight do you use on the hawke…med or high?
Sometimes I am a bit dense. I spoke to Hawke and the cant mount causes a problem. Basically at max elevation (up or down) the adjustment for horizontal goes to near zero. I have to recenter the scope and shim the front ring and get the scope pointed back to normal. I should have remembered that. 😯
I am very happy to report it is the scope. I threw a Mueller 4-16 MD Tactical on it and it sighted in just fine. The groups are very tight at 34 yards and if it was clipping I would have seen some spread normally. Now to call Hawke.

I did a little testing with the stock bolt that is too long. I pulled the washer I had added when I first received it so that the shroud and resevoir was not in contact at the front where the knurling is. Accuracy definitely drops off when those are in contact with each other despite the floated barrel. I followed the solution of the guy in NZ and had added a washer.
I ddidn’t realize what a problem I had avoided by doing that before I ever shot a group with the gun.
The Edgun is a spectacular gun and really shoots well. The resevoir touching the shroud is the only very minor issue that I have had to modify on the gun.
