Rangefinders necessary or not?
Hey guys
With PCP’s effective range of 25-150 yards is a rangefinder necessary? I’m trying to take in consideration that it has a loopy trajectory…which means range finding is more important. I’m also factoring in that some decent range finding can be done with parallax adjustment….although that is not its purpose. What do you guys think; and what do you guys do?
If I was to buy one, I’m thinking about the Leica CRF1000. It is now discontinued and has been replaced by the CRF1000R…..which I think is of little or no gain. Anyways….it’s between $469-499 delivered.

Yes, would buy it without any hesitation.
I would certainly not buy one for each of my gun. I would not buy it for targeting or paper punching. That scope goes on my primary varmint hunt gun, that is it.
I think the turrets are made for PB so may not work well for air guns. There is a universal turret that you can use. I did not used the supplied turrets.
I chose to set my Zero at 45 yards and used the mildot.
John
Question is would you buy it again if you had a chance to do it again. Q2 so you adjust the turrets for the proper yardage right or use mildots

The Yardage Pro works just like a conventional scope, It also has a built in ranging feature. If you like to know the distance between you and the target, all all you have to do is push the button on the side ( left), the distance is display on the view finder. The unit also has a wireless remote and a velcro strap for convenience.

Here is my set up. Hope the picture load up.

How do you get the Yardage pro to work. I’m seriously looking to buy one
My dear Uncle H 😯 😯 T;
not at all, of course ,,, we didn’t get you wrong also,,, we know how good you are….
please tell me what is your rangefinder? and the price as well…
No disrespect intended.
Oh!
No disrespect intended.
Yes, Btango, correct 100%,
My Dear Uncle, what happen to you? and don’t say that you are the first one who can see our brother Shanu,, in fact who knows? no one… maybe i or someone else…
i didn’t want to create a new thread and asking the same question, as i am a new member in this forum, so, i don’t know what was going on here before i join,,, i said maybe some one has posted some question about the rangefinder and let check and search for it, when i put the word of ((Rangefinder)) in the field of the searching place i found a thread that created by our brother Shanu, i felt if i bring my question here with his thread it will give us a small reminder of him,
anyhow, my question is;
i want to buy the best Rangefinder for the price $200 or maximum $250, what is the best one at that price,, you guys had more and better experience than me and asking you always gave me the best result… thanks for your help…
PS: Cute grandkids!
I don’t get it! You can post date things AFTER you die? I find that seriously strange…
Confused….
Kindly Uncle H 😯 😯 t
PS: Wherever he’s at, I’ll be seeing him sooner than you guys. Perhaps he can explain it all to me.
You really can’t be this naive? Hemn bumped the thread Shanu created back in November…any new post to a thread brings it the top of the board. Hemn bumped as he now has a question about rangefinders as well. Feeling nostalgic Hemn didn’t want to create a new thread but however bump the late “Dr. Steele’s” question about rangefinders…
Comprendo?

For a minute I thought Dr. Steele is back, then I realized someone had bumped this thread.
I was going to say, where Shanu is going, everybody has 20/20 vision and x-ray vision. He will not need a freaking range finder!

PS: Not that anyone gives a ‘hoot’ but these are my daughter’s fraternal twins:

2.5 years old and they are cute as as their momma. They are the result of “in vitro”, and anyone who says that is a bad thing can bite my ass!
Plus which, they were born Texas Nationals…so when Texas secedes from the Union, I’m going to let them adopt ME.
Hoot his post was back on Nov 6

I use a Nixon prostaff 3 with great success and it’s only 150 bucks.
