That’s the Bitch!!! That’s her…..
She was a lot prettier when she was 19. Time has a way of wearing on women…what with all the wear and tear!
I guess that’s why light switches were invented.
Kind regards,
Weary Ol’ Uncle Hoot:
PS: Ed…if you are stricken with the guilt you so readily deserve, and decide to send me a FREE Leyla…if it isn’t brushed aluminum, with a walnut stock, just know I’ll again be devastated. You’d do that to an old man too, wouldn’t you? Wouldn’t you!!!
Well…SECoda, to tell the truth, I met that “Leyla” at a football game. I was on one side of the stadium, she was on the other.
It was the late ’60’s and she was wearing one of those mini-skirts. The drunks I was with told me she was wearing black lace underwear, because every now and then, when she shifted positions, they claimed they got a peak!
“Bullshit!!!” I said…“That’s a class lady over there and cutier than a speckled pup! She’s definitely wearing a respectable, white cotton, full coverage, undergarment!”
So, we all placed bets, and at the half-time, Jim Brassie walked over to the other side of the stadium and found a seat just below her. While the band had marched. he took a few quick peaks, then he hurried back. Now there was close to $25 at bet, and back then that was big money!
“Well???” The drunken group cried out, “What was it? Black lace, was it black lace????”
Jim hesitated for a moment with a sour look on his face, and said: ”Nope! it was just flies!!!”
Oh how that hurt! I feel the pain even today, 50 some years later…
poor ‘Ol Uncle Hoot:
Sounds like Leyla was a skank anyways. Probably had syphilis. Hopefully, the cured Leyla will be available soon.
I haven’t got enough money to buy a Leyla now, even if they were available.
Alas…Ed would have to send it to me for no charge. My money has gone for a new knee, medicines to keep me alive, and for a down payment on a nice coffin made from recycled plastic garbage cans…(a really good deal from “Recycle-His-Sorry-Ass.com” $49.95 USD and they have a layaway plan! My wife said she found it by accident… 🙄 🙄 🙄
All I can do is listen to Roy Orbison sing the song “Leyla”…..and silently sob into my pillow as my last days of life drift by without meaning or purpose…
Listen with me my children…and let your tears join mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2Ib3_jMp9s The fool spelled her name wrong, but I forgive him!
Ed said “it didn’t work”…if it’s broke, I’d take it into my care, never shoot it, but care for it lovingly until it, like me, broken and unloved, was placed together in our final resting place. (sob)
Crippled, broken, on my knees, in my last days…but still in love with “Leyla”!!!
Kndly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot:
We are waiting to see HOOT smile face, ED.
Keep in touch, I always like to read you.
Your turlly
Ed
Imagine owning a gun that Eric Clapton wrote a 1970 love song about. “it was the tale of a young man who fell hopelessly in love with a beautiful, unavailable woman and who went crazy because he could not marry her.” A forbidden airgun. :hoot:
Found out today that I will have the knee replacement probably March or April. Oh well…at least they have a fix for it. The recovery is a bitch.
It takes two to three months to get back to normal. A month before you can drive. I don’t drive with my knees. Weird!
I’ve always said, however, I’m more of a man on one leg, than most other men using all three of theirs!
Hoot:
“Nothing will kill the Evil” is what my Father told me few days after my accident when i had somewhat woken up from the Morphine induced Coma again. That kinda stuck !
I have never met you personally but i feel like i know you pretty well – you remind me of my crazy newly departed Uncle with his Maxim and all – i told you about him earlier.
You’ll be back in business in no time – it takes a little while but you’ll see. As said : Nothing can kill the Evil, HOOT ! 😉
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2. This POS iPhone sucks though …
Good to hear Hoot, We all hope for the best, every once in a while I hear of a tough recovery but most are quicker than they brace you for. Modern Medicine is all about managing liability so under promise and over deliver is the standard plan.
Hoot, luckily the guy you sold the gun to is a very nice guy (as you probably already know) who happens to live about an hour away from me. He PMed me and we got to talking and going to meetup. He showed me the pics, that was a nice R3 you had, too bad you can’t use it. But at least it went to someone who will take care of it very well and use it well. We’re going to test your gun and my new .22 std pretty soon at 75yards.
I’ll be sure to show him this thread dedicated to his new gun if it turns out to be a lemon!!! JK, i got jealous once I saw it with that nice NC shroud 🙂 I hope he’ll let me try it :4:
If Ed keeps his word, and sends Tony a Lelya .22 with my name on it…I will be happy. If it is brushed aluminum, I’ll probably have a stroke.

Given any reasonable choice, over time, all of us would rather suffer serious pain than not be able to shit. Trust me on this, I know whereof I speak.
This Fall my shoulder failed, and I had to have surgery to smooth out the joint due to arthritic damage. I was given narcotic pain relievers for the post surgical pain. Again, I found myself unable to shit. This went on for three days, and I went to the emergency room by ambulance, after I passed out due to dehydration, and six hours of dry heaves. I was home alone and managed to call 911. At the hosplital I was given a CAT scan, and was diagnosed as having tremendous amounts of impacted fecal matter (“full of shit”), also diverticulitis, with infection, was noted. It took two days of morphine and IV antibiotics to resolve that problem.
Sorry to hear that man but, damn, doctors are stupid. First they prescribe you WAY TOO high a dose of painkillers where you’re puking and are constipated …which lead to you going to the hospital. And they “fix it” but giving you MORE opiates by IV!? Lol…crazy!
Feel better man.. :hoot:
Hoot,
Hang in there- I also enjoy your posts!
Goat Piss- you may have just discovered the “New Mature Goats’ Dietary Supplement or better called the Fountain of Youth”.
Get well, Bottle it and make millions!!!
Jim
The BSA Ultra action with “side cocking” is no longer being made. It was originally designed and made by a blueprinting friend of mine (Egon on various forums) in Oslo….. 😉
I am not aware that the production has started elsewhere. Does anybody know ???
Cheers
Trygve :biggrinn:
Actually BSA has now converted to Ultra SE which uses the same bolt action as Scorpion, that would also work well for a bullpup – perhaps even better than the old MMC cocking. Yes, mine is a side cocker with knob attached to the hammer and I believe it has to do with Egon :biggrinn:

Been looking for a 22 R3 Long single shot, not easy to find at all.
Gotta say, could get just about ANY other gun pretty fucking quick right now.
But not the Edgun…
Nope, not the Edgun.
