Q:

Ted’s Latest Bobcat/Pigeon Video

What might be significant is that Ted has gone full circle and mounted his Hawke Sidewinder back on to the Bobcat for pesting/hunting. :biggrinn: He even takes a finishing shot at about 7 yards that would be impossible or less than optimal with many of these FFP and 50 yard parallax PB scopes. Great to see Ted back to these hunting videos. Don’t get suckered into $800-1000+ scopes (Nikon, Bushnell, Vortex, etc.) when a $500 or less scope (Hawke, MTS, Falcon, Aeon) may be more appropriate for the situation. 😉

The scope should be about optically centered when the turrets are at the mid points but that is not allways the case. To check the optical center you need to mount the scope in some v blocks Use an old shoebox, but I have found it to flimsy, with a couple of v’s cut in the sides. Lay the scope in the blocks and set it up so that you have some sort of aiming point for the cross hairs. Rotate the scope through 360 degrees. The cross should make a oval / circle around the aming mark. Adjust the turrets untill the circle is as small as possible the scope will now be truly optically centered.

Thanks eelect.

The problem is I cant tell what the mid points for the Hawke SW are.
However your rotation method is excellent!

OK, a dumb question. How do you find the optical zero on the Hawke SW?

Brother Adan,

guys,,,

as usual Ted made another great vid and explanation about the new FX scope mount,,, here you go,,,

just how he persuaded me to buy an Edgun by uploading his vids about Edgun ,,,then this time he could to hit the target and i am going to buy an FX scope mount God Willing,,,

This type of mount exists quite some time, often used in Field Tarjet or other precision shooting skills.

Let the results speak for themselves on scopes. It is tough to argue with success at this level. Here are the 2013 Extreme Benchrest Competition 75 yard results with the gun and scope the various shooters used. I just love that Alvero from Mexico cleaned their clocks with a Hawke Sidewinder. It must be clear enough to win! 😯 :angrymob: Also, if you study the scopes you will notice an absence of some of the highly promoted ones and for some of these guys money is no object. :geekn: The right tool for the right job. I would think that clarity of optics is pretty important for this kind of competition.

i agree with HOOT 110%. a good scope is a good scope. it let you hit what you target. all those extra clarity yada yada always a bonus that usually comes with extra $ but only when you start missing, then burn the damn scope.

back to Ted – always fun to watch him do all that. he has a talent in spreading the airgun fever. at these point if he starts using slingshot and pebble they could sell the sling for $1000. any good airgun that he is using will boost the sales. i just hope that his decision is pure out of his passion n finding rather than driven by manufacturer

Why oh Why does every one confuse paralax with focus? Huh? Why??? How many times does it have to be made clear the differences???

As far as hawke scopes, they have a VERY good warranty, and are well known to need it often. (Ecactly why every one knows about it!)

Guess I’ll stick with my old fashion, low tech o’l POS Zeiss Scopes. 😆

I wouldn’t strap a piece of shit Hawke on my cock if my life depended on it. Garbage ass scope product.

I thought those things had a heat-seeking tip on them? ( the cock’s, not the scopes )

Well hell…Forget the scope, and just ask for a flashlight, or contract the work out to the “Finnish Viper”, he has a franchise now, you know!

You’re making the whole thing way too complicated!

Hoot:

Furthermore…you Homo’s quit obsessing on my gonads!!!

Coda I was thinking the same thing also….who’s balls is the dog licking?????? Poor Hoot: and his sticky balls..

I have 2 SW Hawke scopes and a digital nite eye on my 17 and and very happy with them. They are the 6.5-20 x42 to keep weight down but when installed properly they are in my opinion the best airgun scope out there.

The Hawke Sidewinders are a little heavy so we understand when the mount may be inadequate. 😆

Does he ever get confused? I bet that leaves a bad taste in his mouth. Hoot:
