Thanks Hoot!! I go do this.

Why’d you have to bring up juicy Spanish ass.. Airguns are the only thing that briefly get my mind off of it..

ok Guys.more one doubt..how many shots I need do with my gun for stabilize the regulator?

I need think work with 900-915 fps to with JSBs Kings…but when I can do this? 1000 shots later I can low the speed?

??

thanks!

Dear ??,

No need to wait. Just lower the HST to the pellet speed you want right now. As the reg settles in, you can raise the HST setting if the velocity begins to drop as the regulator gets broken in. That HST is a good way to use the gun where it needs to be from the get-go, and adjust for changes as you use the gun over the next several months.

Enjoy it now. It’s adjustable, so use those adjustments to your advantage.

Hoot:

Yes the regulator will settle in before that number is reached. It is time to adjust. I think 800-1000 rounds is plenty to break the gun in.

Like I said, it seems to be shooting faster than I expected with OEM settings, and that increases noise and decreases shot count. I understand that Ed says to shoot it awhile before adjusting the regulator or HST, and permit the regulator to reach a level performance output.

Once you’ve nailed your share of chickens*, honorable 😯 Uncle, and the regulator has been worked, you may find the sweet spot for the .25 to be about 915-920 fps, using Kings. My experience with speed was similar: original speed was over 940. It didn’t change after quite a few shots, so was tuned down to chicken-eyeball accurate at 40 yds. Right now, the .25 R3M Long is the most accurate BP I own, a little better grouping than the .25 Cricket (and much better than the .25 Royale).

The R3M long, .25 is fine for shooting out of vehicles, never had a moment wishing for a smaller gun. I carry it in a utility vehicle to nail pests. One thing hunters fail to mention is a longer barrel means your face is farther back/less visible to prey. Anyone who has a bird feeder will know; the closer you are to the window, the greater the likelihood of spooking the birds. When I’m hunting using brush for a blind, I go for a longer barrel.

* Save a few for the Leyla!

A belated Happy Birthday!

My Dear Haz-matz:

I am getting four, nine shot magazines, at the OEM reg. and hammer spring settings, from a 2900 psi (200 BAR) fill.

That’s thirty-six (36) shots per fill. (I don’t know how to say that in Metric…)

I understand that Ed says to shoot it awhile before adjusting the regulator or HST, and permit the regulator to reach a level performance output. The regulator needs “breaking in”, so shoot it I will.

Otherwise, I am delighted with the magazine design, the trigger adjustment is a single hex screw delight, and the bolt action is buttery smooth. It’s the best Edgun version I’ve owned so far. I go back to R1.0 and I can see and feel the improvements since then.

Hoot:

thanks for the info. so that means 50 plus shots per fill as mentioned in its specs will be achieved after the break in period.

Regards

Hoot:

How many shots are you getting per fill ?

:hoot:

I will do just that. It’s shooting a little “hot” (fast) right now, and I had to adjust the trigger from 1 gram to two pounds, other than that , it just needs a bore cleaning and some more lead pushed through it so it will settle down. Very accurate out of the box. I was stacking pellets at 30 meters while adjusting the scope.

Hi Andy!

I got my .25 Standard Edgun yesterday, and it was perfection, no problems at all. I shot it over the lake in back of my house at night and found it to be very quiet, except for the hammer hitting the valve. Not bad, since the vale sound can’t be heard very far. The bolt action is buttery smooth and trigger is very crisp.

LOTS of power!!!

I’ve owned many airguns, but keep coming back to Ed’s guns. There’s something special about them. I know you will enjoy yours.

Many congrats. So there is no need to drill the shroud vents or any additional shroud.
Please share some crony figures and most important of all some pics 🙂

Dear Andy…

You live in BRAZIL…BRAZIL!!!

Brazil is in “Latin America“…WHY do you insist on speaking Portuguese, instead of your native language LATIN???

I have never understood this! Nor do I understand why people in Mexico insist on speaking Spanish, instead of Mexican….

Today is my 72’nd birthday…the above, and many other facts, have eluded me throughout my life. It is all very confusing to me.
