Why Buy an Edgun?
This year there are a lot of new bullpups hitting the market. Some look very promising and unique while others look like they are designed out of spite. So why would anyone buy an Edgun R3M when there are so many other options in the market today?
Today I decided to take a break from squirrels and pigeons and check my Strelok vs real world application. I shot at 50 to check zero, then 100 to check Strelok and like so many others have posted the groups where what were to be expected, awesome. So armed with my RF i decided to see if the gun, scope, shooter and Strelok could shoot constantly at 200 yards. I have seen so many groups at 100, 50 and 75 yards but hardly ever at 200. I had a pretty strong breeze coming from my right at a 45 across the target. Like most desert shooting I had several wind events to contend with so I was going to be happy just to make my pellet trap gong. I also only have a fixed 12 power scope and I was dealing with some mirage. So now you have heard my whining and disclaimers here’s my Eddie shooting 200 yards in less than perfect conditions.

Here’s the whole target…
the first three were to the left, one on the target and two in the cardboard, I’m trying to dope the wind… they measured about 2.25″
This group was less than 2 inches and I felt pretty good about my hand pressure, cheek weld and breathing
This next group was the wind giving me a break and I am getting more comfortable and confident that the gun is better than me
These last two shots made be pack up and go home… I may never do this again in my life, but this is what the Eddie can do when the shooter gets a little luck on his side.
I hope this post was fun, informative and it challenges you to see how far you can shoot with the Edgun.

How much trouble would it be to catch and send me a Cobra? Just a small one would be fine. If you have access to one that eats small chickens, and enjoys biting fat women, that would be even better.

PS: Perhaps shipment by UPS “Tube” container would be most comfortable for the snake???
I am in Pakistan. There is no restriction on airguns import here so bringing one in luggage is not an issue. Just one thing to note is that the gun from UK will be low powered as per UK regulations. Thats why i got the reg setter so that i can tune it to 130 bars anf then adjust the hammer spring. This forum has educated me enough to tune the gun and to take care of any issues. Also Edgun seems quite simple to work on. Insha ALLAH will keep you brothers updated.

Thanks Hemn for the encouragement. I will definitely look for your threads. Although importing one to my country is not that big an issue but I am getting one in .25 caliber through a friend in UK who will be visiting me in the coming month IA. I have also ordered a regulator tester from John Hagan, some extra O rings, two extra mags and a hawke sidewinder tactical scope. Will share the pics IA when I’ll get it.

that group at 200 yards (( 😯 😯 )) is really a unique performance that only can be achieved with Edguns … i never seen/found such great group with any other air rifles at that distance,,,
BTW: if i am not mistaken 200 yards is range of firearms ,,, 😯 😯 😯 😯 :8: :8: :8: :8: :8: :8:
My Brother ,,,, you look like a new member to this forum, ok, since you have mentioned about your waiting time for only one month,,, all old members are aware of my story of waiting and trying to import my Edgun to my oily country ,,,ok,, let me tell you ,,, i was trying to import my Edgun for almost two years,,, Eduard himself aware of this,,,, we had about 400 emails sent/back between us,, and i almost emailed to all transporter company in all Europe ,,, and let me stop here,,,it is so long story ,,,
but, my Edgun deserves more that i did for it,,,, if you go back and check out my threads ,,,you will see my groups and all,,,
if i don’t do a mistake when i want to shot a bird or anything ,,,my Edgun never go wrong ,,,, this is what you will get ,,, :8: :8: be happy and be patient

Pellet impact will be an issue when target shooting in the yard. You need a quiet backstop. There were several posts on here about using rubber mulch in a box behind the target to stop that loud impact noise. You can also use electrician’s putty found in the electrical dept at Home Depot, but you will need several bars and it’s not that cheap.

thanks Hoot:. My neighbors are danger-close on three sides, and my backyard is only 25 yards deep with a 4ft brick wall between my yard and the one behind me. Squirrels run across that wall with complete immunity. That’s not a big deal. I don’t eat them so I don’t shoot them where ever they are. But sniping Sparrows and Starlings trying to nest in nooks on my home, the quieter the better. Oddly I’ve yet to shoot my new Edgun outdoors. It may be quiet enough. Waiting for the weather to break in order to find out.

Some of us, with the Long, had pretty good results. The shorter models just didn’t have the inside volume to handle the air.
Ed never really commented one way or the other on this technique. Although he did admit he had small vent holes in his shrouds. His guns are pretty quiet to begin with, and if you lower the fps they get even quieter, so I guess he figures why bother!
Besides, “Sound” is a relative thing to each individual. Everyone has a different shooting situation as far as neighbors. Mine just happen to be really serious people who want to kill, or imprison me for life. Plus, I have a need to shoot at full power in .25 caliber, so I’m pushing the limits on backyard friendly to begin with.
No everyone has the problems I have…but some are as power crazy as I am, so the need differs from shooter to shooter!

Hoot: has anyone ever had good results quieting the Edgun down by increasing the diameter of the holes at the rear of the shroud? I wonder if Ed ever commented on doing this?

You can put an LDC on it to reduce the sound. In fact, I’m sending Donnyfl a 19.5″ carbon fiber tube today. You could ask him to make you a custom LDC, say 18″ long! This would substantially reduce the report on that short .30 caliber.

As opposed to long, yes. Ed only made 20 long’s and 20 short or std, like I have for the US as far as I know. Mine is tuned at exactly 895 fps and hits hard with 44.75’s , I just don’t like long nose heavy barrels as these air guns are all heavy anyway. I need to update my gun list as the Cricket 177 compact left yesterday.

You own an Edgun .30 short????? Is such a thing even made??? Why a Short? I’d think Standard or Long in such a large Caliber. It must sound like a cannon going off…can that Short barrel even get the pellet, slug, ball up to speed? It just sounds strange and contradictory. Did you mis-type???

Ride, we Edgunners are a patient lot as well, patience makes a good rifleman. Waiting for our beloved toys by watching bouncing breast. No one would wait this long (Lelya) for a Bobcat.
To answer the original question, Everyone knows they are the coolest bulpup air rifles in the world so –> You will be instantly cooler when standing there holding your new Edgun… kind of like a guy looking gay holding a B-Cat only in reverse… Sorry needed said.. :rofl:
