why is .25 seem so popular – is this the optimised calibre for the air rifle? ❓

We shall soon find out how vulcans 25 stacks up against the 22 cricket. Now if this is getting talked about I’d say that the 22 cricket is one hellava gun.

Condor is is more accurate in .22 this is my experience. My cricket is .22 and more accurate then my .25 Edgun

And so do i. The CZ barrels i´ve had ( a couple of Crickets and a Vulcan ) all shot better than my LW equipped EdGuns ever did.
CZ makes good, tough barrels that only get better with time.
No I think I missed it, Was that with your Daisy BB gun ? Please repost it for me?
I did a 500 yard with my Crossman 760 with 20 shoots but its hard to see as all the BBs went in the same hole, :rofl:
I did a 1000 yard with my red Ryder but you can not even see the hole, as all the 50 BBs went in the same hole. :rofl:

If they are making them for the Vulcan, I am sure we can get a Cricket .25 CZ barrel,
I myself am not a barrel expert, but I would be willing to pay 150 bucks are so for a CZ barrel for my Cricket.
I just have never heard anything bad about the CZ barrels,,,, If they want to make a little money at it ,that’s fine with me.
Give me one hole at 50 yards please, Lets make it 100 yards, That even sounds better,

As I understood it CZ only makes .177 and .22 barrels. Those .25s are LW which might explain why .22s are more accurate.
That used to be the case a few years ago but that is no longer valid. CZ makes .25

Hell I just abut never check my air gauge on my crickets , I kind of look at them side ways, 😆 😆 Something in my head tells me not to look down the barrel of a gun. 😉 😉 Its the same thing that tells me all guns are loaded , :smilen: You can take the clip out dry fire it and I am still Leary about looking down the barrel of a gun, Maybe its just me….

When I bought my cricket first thing I did was polish the barrel. I however only polished up to choke and worked barrel in that area. I only went over the choke area a few times. Then I polished the other other side of choke. After a lengthy process barrel was smooth and shiny. From that point on very easy cleaning after 500 rounds. I would say she broke in at 2k or so rounds. She is phenomenal now and very easy to clean

Some CZ barrels have tooling marks. Those bores manage to still shoot exceptionally well. Many never clean these barrels either, and say accuracy improves with the more they are shot. I’ve noticed the same results in my two s-200’s.
I think these tooling marks need to be filled with lead to season the bore in. That’s the only explanation I can come up with as to the cause of that.
LW barrels on the other hand have shot just as well in two AA 500’s that I’ve owned. But they had to be cleaned every 300 shots on average, and then needed a hundred shots or so to season the bore back to peak accuracy. This gave me maybe 150 shots on average of extreme accuracy that I desired.
I really don’t care for cleaning airgun barrels and the CZ’s accommodate this. On average with the four guns I’ve own with both barrels the lil CZ’s out shot the LW’s hands down, even though the LW shot well for 150 rounds or so.
Shooter did you have accuracy problems in you guns? One can search photos on all the forums of the cricket Taipan and Vulcan and find all three are capable of extreme accuracy. That guy Sniperqty has videos of making 170 yard kills with CZ barrels. I have never looked down the barrel.
Guys, sometimes I think you live in a different world. I have seen multiple CZ barrels, either in Crickets or Taipans, and non of them was perfect visually. I was always able to see some scratches and deformation in the choke area. If the choke is not perfect visually the gun cannot shoot straight. Other thing is that both of my LW barrels are perfect. I have also heard that CZ does not pay much attention to the airgun barrels as they are focused on the firearms. CZ is better in one matter: the price.

But so is my condor in both .22 and .25 but I expect for the Vulcan to land on Long Island soon and I will be sampling that next.
