Gun Vise for short guns
What gun vise do you guys use? I have a tipton best gun vise and find it challenging to level off a gun especially with these bullpups. trying to keep the gun secure to level a scope. In the market for a new one.

Lead, to rich for my blood. Besides I’m still playing with the cheep accessories. When done with them I’ll really appreciate the high end stuff.

I still haven’t filled the frame or shot off of it but I found that clamping at the rear narrower portion of the stock doesn’t angle the rifle sideways much if any.
This settup looks promising:
As you can see I’ve gotten interested in finishing the nite vision camera/monitor and dual red- green lasers.
Things should be ready by spring for that night time shoot out with ZONK :butkick:

Lurker poor Zonk still has his volcano in the garage for repair. I sure hope someone is working on it. Sounds like a severe case of my local crappy ford dealer service. Anyhow Lurker you better start weighing your pellets because Zonk will kick your butt because he’s going to go at it with his trusty cricket. The rest is history

Heck, It’s my Christmas present to myself. I’m lucky to get to look at it brfore Friday
Besides I am still fuxineering with it.
Today I decided to stick on the carpet.
The CTK has a generous length of carpet for the “Y”Rest so I took the opportunity to MOD it.
I figured it didn’t have to be just one piece and some would be wasted going to the bottom of the Y.
The top of the clamp halves have plastic end caps but I figured little strips of carpet will better protect the stock from any bump.
I figured there could be several ways to clamp the Vulcan in as the pieces can be moved around.
I might have to dig some lead out of my pellet trap to weigh the CTK down it that will help.
It dropped back into the 40s F here and is rainy and windy.
I’ve been busy weight sorting a few 18 grainers while the wx is bad.
Ive got 3,000+ done and another 1,00 to go. They range from 17.8 grain to 18.5 grain. Some say 0.8 grain doesn’t make a noticeable difference but thou I have yet to outshoot Zonk, it gives me an edge that has Zonk scared. :rofl:

Lurker when I’m shooting like your picture above I get very poor results. For some reason both my guns don’t like getting clamped solid.

Thanks for the graphic explanation donny, I never would have thunk, but I’ll go with wrapping a rope around him like I wrap the string around a tea bag on a spoon and squeez the tea out of him.
Next time you see Zonk, Tea bag him twice. One for me and then one for yourself. Actually do it 3x because after the 2nd time he’s going to like it and ask you to do it again.

i lightened up on my tensioner o-rings and it just touches the rifle now.
I might even try the OEM elastic tensioner again.
