Q:

My take on the Priest…

Well I just tried to sight this in today and I’m going to be that one in five dentist. First off how anyone can put up with that annoying whistle and it does not go away is beyond me! And there is no way a .177 air gun should break your wrist trying to cock it.Even if this was all I had to complain about sitting next to my Mutants and Cricket I would never grab it over them.
Now for the biggest disappointment, the accuracy. I tried JSB 10 and 13 gr. and AA 8 and 10 gr. I’m getting inch and a half groups locked onto a sled at 30 yards

JSB 10 gr.

I’m going to try a different scope and clean the barrel but this is not what I expected. Still there’s the whistle and stiff cocking. Why would I put up with this when I have way better choices.Hell if I shot this outside in Colorado I could call in a bull elk!

JSB 13 gr.

Heard back from R L today. All good on there end.

Ali, I would’t quite go that far. RL, from as far as I can tell, has a good track record. They just got these guns from a new manufacturer and ,well basically, new everything. There are going to be some kinks to work out.

Rick, If you want to take the barrel off without that tool you see 2 small set screws on the top on the rail. Not the big ones to take off the rail. Back those up and the shroud simply screws off then the set screw for the barrel and it pulls right out. Hope this helps.

So r&l is not backing up these guns or their warranty???

quote ksfastman:

Remove the two set screws on the top piccatinny and then the shroud unscrews and you can remove the barrel.

Thanks good to know. But before I take it apart I’m waiting from R&L. Seems there not around when I call.I guess the Priest owners are on there own.
Right now I have a 1200 dollar paper weight.
Or as I was thinking I could re-market it as while your out elk hunting you could bring the Priest and as you shoot squirrels (if you can hit them) you at the same time could call in a bull elk! Genius!

Nice one ksf

Remove the two set screws on the top piccatinny and then the shroud unscrews and you can remove the barrel.

you will still need to remove the barrel from time to time,,id ask for one,,i assume the shroud can be removed,,,,,may be remove both

I thought it was suppose to ship with that tool, but maybe they’ll only provide it when you buy the barrel replacement kit?

thats strange,,,,,,i thought it was an easy job

Yes, and I would like to take the barrel off but appears I need a special tool.

I take it the barrel is clean

That’s not good. Have you pushed a pellet through the barrel to check for tight spots or shaving of the pellet

Could be a barrel or regulator issue,I don’t know. 3 shots thru the crony with 8.4 gr and a 33 fps spread.

My Cricket shoots CHP 7.9 gr at 980 fps and it’s very accurate.

Well no improvement on my groups. 10 shot group 30 yards AA 10.3 gr.
No response back from R&L, 2 e-mails and a phone call. They did respond to my e-mail to try and see if it was to late to cancel my extra mag order. They said they already shipped it,but I can return it.And then I e-mailed the gun or the mag?

So. Any more news on this gun. The consent is very good imo
