I could understand $30 for a hydro for either size and $25 for a fill of 88CF, but damn. What’s required on a 88CF hydro that a 44CF does not?
That one’s easy to answer, to do the hydro test the tank has to fit inside their test tank where it’s sealed in for the test. You might want to shop around some, there’s a shop near by that tests Fire Fighter bottles even if there’s no SCUBA activity.

Did Brancato give you the thin little micro-bore hose also? He claims the 36″er will waste less air than a 3″ paintball hose.
Python, I got my assembly from Brancato as well and was always scared of that whipping snake getting loose if it failed. This way, if it fails, all I have to worry about is which way the little scud missle is pointed….. 😆
Did a little alteration and took the hose completely off and mounted the fill adapter straight to the bleeder valve. You’d be astonished at the amount of air you lose that is left in the hose when you bleed it off.

time to find a dive shop.
you can get an adapter from scba to female DIN (high pressure scuba) and the dive shop can fill it for you. Check first they may already have the adapter. if not about $70 to get the adapter yourself but probably get fill cost down to 6-7 bucks, pay for the adapter in a hurry.
The dive shop I used to use (and the only one I know of) can only charge to 3500 PSI.
I can go to another city nearby (Triggerman graciously disclosed his fill sources), but prefer the bit closer one as I’m there pretty often anyways…
Need to contact someone from the local VFD. Fat chance they’ll have a compressor.

Hell, I’d pay $75 for a hydro seeing as I only have to do it every 5 years. But those fills would get expensive!

I threw that together from the leftover plywood I used on those racks. Didn’t take too long. I may put pellet tins in those shelves supporting th bottle, we’ll see. I love to tinker 😉

That’s nice. I actually just meant something very portable to keep it from rolling off the table or around in the bed of the truck. Like this one.

Yeah, I wouldn’t think the tank would be all that much bigger than a 44. Even so there shouldn’t be any more work required.
