Well It’s official. There was a thread on Air Gun Advice about the use of nitrogen in PCP Air Guns. It was stated by one of the mod’s there that it was dangerous and not allowed by ANY Air Gun Manufacturer. I made the mistake of pointing out that AF did allow it in their guns. And that it was safe when used with the proper fill gages.
We were warned not to talk about it further, yet then went on to state that it couldn’t be used in a closed area. He stated that nitrogen displaced oxygen. I tried to point out that the Air we breath is full of nitrogen, and that Co2 was used in fire fighting and does indeed displace oxygen, yet many thousands of us shoot Co2 without incident. Just as nitrogen is used by many paint ball shooter. That was it! I was Banned with further notification. Not even the common decency of a PM or E-Mail Just banned by inactivating my account. Great bunch of Mod’s over there!
It seems if it is something that they do not know about personally, or use them selves, it isn’t allowed to be discussed. Narrow mindedness at it’s best! 👿 Censorship at it’s worst.
A shame as I was very interested in Rapids and the new Air Wolf CMT’s, and have a lot of friends over there. 😥 .

You know what I catch myself doing? I think of this site as MY home, I consider I’ve been here long (what is “long enough”?) enough to talk shit if I want. Then I remember to “STFU”.

Well I have known of Walter for years via another Airsmith named Whiteolf.
I have met Walt a few times, shot with him, seen his creations first hand, and he has resealed airguns for me, built high quality parts for me and helped me out of a few pickles.
Grumpy well maybe to some but nothing like many people I know. 😥

Grumpy old men, usually the funnest to talk too, and the best to work with, if you know when to listen, you usually learn something, other times ear plugs are essential. 😆
I learned early on in construction that if i told a subcontractor who was older than me how i wanted it done, the whole job was a pain in the ass. If i asked them “What would you do, you’ve done this way more than i have” and leaned on their experience, they became my best subs to use over and over, and i still got it done the same way as i wanted, sometimes they showed me a trick or two. Younger guys are looking to prove themselves, older guys are looking for respect for what they have accomplished, and to share what they have learned. Sometimes. 😆

Yes the Mod’s here are great guys. And I consider each and ever one of them friends. On AGA however, they have taken the attitude that ignorance is the way to go. That and censorship of anything they do not understand is part and parcel. They threaten any one for discussing or asking a question about LDC’s. Yet 220 swift has thread after thread on his LDC’s and openly solicits the sales of his work there. (And fine work it is too!) The Mod’s post links to threads on LDC’s for those that ask, and seem friendly enough. Yet when you go the links, they have been removed. If you ask about it, you either get no answer, are told to mind your own business. After they have told you to go there in the first place. Damed Strange if you ask me.
When they shut down the thread on nitrogen, it wasn’t because the high pressure could be dangerous. It surly can. It was because they claimed that Nitrogen would be dangerous to use in a closed space as it robs’. oxygen. Which of course it doesn’t . They never for a moment stopped to think that many thousands of air guns use Co2. Which “Does” displace oxygen. If nitrogen did the job of displacing oxygen as they said, we would be using it in fire fighting rather than Co2! We have Co2 on the truck. We don’t have nitrogen! Yet no panic over Co2.
They further stated that “NO” Air Gun Manufacturer approved the use of nitrogen in their guns. When I pointed out that Air Force Did indeed approve it, I was banned. It flat pissed them off. They have let all who ask about our Air force Guns know in no uncertain terms that they are pure junk, and only a newb’y fool would own one. Hell. I was flat out told that I was stupid for putting a decent scope on such a POS.
The very same fellow then tried to hawk counter fit Super Sniper scopes to the members there. I got in trouble for point out that they were fake.
That is when WOK got banned. For telling me in disgust to come home. That simple sentence, “Mike Come Home” got him banned. So yes, I totally lost my respect for them. Didn’t mind pushing their buttons at all. A lot of good men have given their lives for the right to speak out. To end censorship. I don’t intend in any way to put up with it., Nor would I knowingly take part in it.

I have never heard of any one harmed by shooting Co2 in their Air Guns. Come on. Hell. There are some guns designed to use propane. Now that is nuts!
