What rimfire to get?
Im moving to a farm and i no longer need my shrouded condor. So i was thinking on selling it and buying a new rimfire 17 or .22lr or even .22 mag. I Want to be able to take out coyotes and fox And feral cats. when they come around the chickens and what not. So i was thinking .17 or .22mag. But those both cost more to shoot. Than a .22lr although they both have much more power and accuracy then a .22lr. And i already have a .22lr. Then i was thinking lever action or semi auto i know .17 aren’t made in semi but i think .22 mags are? And i like the cz452 American. I know llama has one and he likes his so im just looking at my choices. So what would you buy or what do you have?

But in a rimfire it’s always been about doing allot of pllinking and the lever guns , semi’s and pumps always seemed more appropriate for this kind of work.
I have a Marlin 39-a with a scope that will shoot in 2” at 100 with the big box ammo. never tried the match stuff thru it.
The 17 HMR is a very accurate round , and if you dont reload it’s a nice way to go , .26 cents a round from Cabela’s
I bought a rem 788 in 222 allot of years ago for my small critter sniping, and it will shoot into tiny one hole groups all day, and i can load it down to 22 rimfire up to 22 mag , 22 hornet velocities or what ever i want.
You can reload 222 for .27 cents a round at Cabela’s off shelf prices with rem 50 grain plhp bullet at 87.00 for 500 price, and this is what shoots the tiny little holes in my rifle.

this is a idea about what you can load for.
but if you dont want to load then the 17 hmr or 22 mag is an excellent choice .

Nice to know that. maybe i will get into center fire one day but realoding equipment is expensive.

Son of a bitch i just found out i have to wait 14 fucking days when i buy a firearm in connecticut. This is sucks hard. We cant even buy the ruger charger because its considered a assault weapon.
It is a harris 6-9″. I honestly don’t think it has ever had the legs extended to 9 inches, maybe once or twice while shooting in fields. I would like to have the one with notches, so you can increase the height in increments, but this has worked perfect for me so I can’t complain. Does a good job and it is affordable.
Although reading about rimfires recently, I would really like to get my hands on a sako finnfire sporter. Supposed to be a supremely accurate little rimfire built to model centerfire target rifles. I really like the looks of it. But they are supposed to be rare and expensive. And since I haven’t seen one for sale yet, I’m thinking that is true.
What bipod do you have on your blazer?
That is what I noticed when comparing the other rimfires to the cz line. The cz feels very solid, and like you said, built like a big rifle. The other ones seemed to be made out of thin stamped steel, with more play in them than I liked. Just not as solid.

Well the savage has only one average smaller than the cz. i would like a wider range of data than 5 5shot groups. The savage seems more toyish? While the cz is built like a real firearm.
Condor bob you buy that rifle yet, if not take a look at this. May 2010 Shooting times
and the savage is like 200 cheaper.

You won’t need mil dots…
Checkout the ballistics… at bore you are -1.5″ and then…
.17 HMR, 17 grain = + 1.5″ at 90 yards, 0 at 145 yards, – 1.5″ at 165 yards.
