any slingshot shooters here?
I am having lotsa fun lately with my plingshot and some 36 cal roundballs
i am pretty good at blasting beercans at out to 25 yards now
anyone else shoot them?

in ny it is illegal to own onw with a wrist support so i have a standard one with powerbands and one with flatbands

Nothing worse then an “improperly placed, loose” RUBBER!
These are not expensive and fun to shoot. I prefer the wrist-braced models to avoid as much torque.

All slingshots can take out your eye, especially if the elastics are worn or coming loose. Ya gotta make sure those rubbers are tight and properly placed!

Yes I ordered one for $260 from bill hays in September.
It wasn’t until recently (last year) that I found out about high end air guns. Is there such thing as high end sling shots other than the $19.95 ones at Walmart? If so please include a link 🙂
I hunted with slingshots for about twenty years, at least. The collection is pretty big and all were commercially available at one time. Saunders was the main company I used and most game was shot with different incarnations of their Falcon, high power. The advantage of the slingshot over archery (I used both) was one could shoot into trees without worrying about losing an arrow. Marbles, iron slag and steel bearings were all useful ammo, but steel balls were best for consistent accuracy.
No joke, I hunted Mourning Dove, rabbit and squirrels, lots of them. We weren’t allowed guns growing up, so I went the slingshot route. I lived with the things. In my prime, me and a friend used to shoot grasshoppers in Colorado at 30+yards. To practice, we hung large sheets of old carpet as a backstop, so we could collect ammo for reuse.
I’ll try to post a pic sometime of the collection, cool designs. The big concern is protecting your eyes and watching how the power bands are wearing. I almost lost an eye when a Falcon broke and the top part came flying into my face at full draw. There was an air bubble in the molded handle. I got a lot of free stuff from Saunders when I sent it to them with the story.
After wrist surgery, I gave the slingshots a rest. My doc told me bows were not wise to shoot any more, so it’s crossbows now. I guess slingshots would have a similar negative effect on what’s left of that wrist.
I love my slingshot, shoot it all the time. i dont hunt with it, just a cans and bottles shooter.

dang my bad crow! Haven’t shot any groups yet. I still have to go get some smaller/longer arrows. I’ve been using 22″ 330 gr xbow bolts. No clue on fps. Sorry bro!
