Q:

.22 Vulcan doesn’ need 250 BAR :!:

I got nearly 90 shots before it went off regulator below 890 FPS and that was around 115 BAR on the gun gauge.

Darn, that target came up sideways again. I took the picture straight.
This was my 50 yard target for 66 shots. Don’t know how I did it but twice I double fed a second pelled. Later using the chronograph at home I did it again and recorded a shot at 424 FPS. On the target there was a second poor hole 7 to 8 inches beloe PO Aim.

Hoot: :hoot: made up the entire global warming theory in the 70’s trying to collect extra money for this preoccupation with pellet guns. However some politician stole the old geniuses idea and now is a millionaire while :hoot: is a broke asp mother fker

Climate change has been going on-on earth for 100,000 of thousands of years however man made global warming is a Dream concocted by those trying to control resources and manufacturing and money

Eelect this is about the smartest thing I have ever read from you on this board!

No. The biggest load of shit this World has ever heard is Ed’s countless promises.

Maybe that too Ville but that affects only the guys waiting for their guns. That is just a tiny part of the global population. Unless uncle hoot makes up for half the world population. Global warming crap affects every single one of us every day of our lives. Can you imagine a carbon tax. That’s about as pathetic as taxing guys with over a certain length of you know what

I know, i know. They tax me for that you-know-what .. 😉

The Global Warming can actually be seen in the fact that the Northern climate is colder and rainier – for a while, and the Southern climate is hotter and drier except for flooding . Has to do with the melting Polar Ice and its effect on , among other things, ie Golf Stream – which it cools down with its melt water.
That’s what i’m told anyways …

spinj,

From my 66 shot string, above, would you suggest a slightly lower hammer spring tension ❓

Is the regulator broke in enough at 470 rounds ❓

Did you read my post above? For flatter curve you have to add more HS or lower REG PRESSURE.

Lurker,

Octavius made good recommendations. But you may want to shoot some more rounds to fully break-in the regulator.

Yes, somehow I missed Octavius’ post.
I enjoy 50y target shooting even more now that I have this really accurate Vulcan. I hope to shoot further but I have a backyard application that I would prefer a minimium power for.
I’ll try to get another couple hundred rounds out between the rain storms that are causing an unusual nearly weekly flooding in the area. The range grass is like walking on water but muddy at the targets.
I’ve decided on filling indoors at home to 230 BAR at air conditioned 78°F. That should be safe enough for up to 90° At the range. We haven’t seen 90° in over 10 months now. So much for.the BS global warming.

I totally agree

It also depending what distance are you shooting. If you you shoot only at 27yards is enough sub 10fpe gun but there is plenty shooters which shoot to more than 50 yards… And there is sub 10fpe too low. For my shooting place is 31fpe right from 55y to 150y 😉

Yes, that’s also another reason why I turned the power down. I don’t need 30+ FPE for my backyard blasting sessions. 10 FPE is plenty of power even up to 35 yards…maybe a bit more.

Yes that’s right. The Vulcan is new is necessary put more pellets through the barrel.

Why are some of you guys so obsessed with chrony numbers.. lol…If I can take my gun out and crack a squirrel in the head 9 outta 10 times at 60 yds personally I could give two shits less what the standard deviation of a 60 shot string looks like..First question that i have is….Is the gun inaccurate? I mean hell,if you can shoot sub 1/2 inch groups at 50yds and only have a 5fps variance on 60+ shots why on gods green earth would you ever want to fuck with the reg or the spring??????????? For that matter, to even remotely consider changing anything is beyond my comprehension….

For me, it’s the shot count that I’m after that goes along with consistency in velocity. That’s the reason for the chrony work, regulator, hammer spring, and valve tension adjustment. 60 shots for me is, obviously, too little. Good for you if that’s acceptable and if you can crack squirrel heads. But I shoot alot and fine accuracy is what I am after, the kind in which the second to the twenty-fifth pellet goes into the very same hole pellet number one made. And I’m not saying ragged holes, or the other pellets making their hole that connects to the others – one hole and one hole only! (Hmmm, that sounds a bit awkward. ) Squirrel heads…well…are much bigger than a pellet’s. Maximizing air is also what I am aiming for (excuse the pun). Further, making the drive for a tank fill too frequently is something I don’t enjoy doing. Heck, shooting accurately is fun, especially below FAC power. Finally, being able to make a great gun into an even greater gun, or becoming a sharpshooter from a good marksman …well…is much, much better.
