Q:

.25/.257 Condor Build

Well here is my next build when I have the time. Will be able to switch between .257 and .25 barrels. This Condor will be like no other Condor.

.25 barrel is machined and half the hammer is also. Will machine the .257 barrel next and make a one piece bushing for it. Looking for 200 fpe in .25 and 220 + fpe in .257.

The Terrible Trio! 😈

Here is the .257 with his brothers. Still need to refinish all my tanks.

24″ .25
28″ .308
32″ .257

Also all the valves and etac’s will get black oxide when I take all the valves bodies to be done next week.

Just relized my .257 only has a 32.25″ barrel. 😯 😯

I guess I only know how to read something with digital readout. I need to go get a tape measure with digital readout.

That is a beautiful crown saver. I wonder if it affects harmonics?

Made one of these for RJ a little bit ago and didn’t want to send it to him when I was done.

So I made one today for my .257. 7.6 ounces. Has a delrin liner so it doesn’t scratch the barrel and the set screws push on the liner instead of the barrel.

Lil I thought it was a rather large gun. This is just too scientific for me, I guess as long as it works its good to go.

THat lil 257 is a bad bitch….lol!

In an airgun, the 257 seems to give the bigger 308 a run for its money

I’m already using 13 lb spring. I’m also only using 3.5″ springs in my guns instead of 4″. Big difference. Hammer barely has any pre load on it when you remove the tank.

I have 49 lb retun spring in valve.

does the top hat bottom out maybe you need alittle stronger vavle spring to slow the process down so more air comes out

The tophat is set with spacers. You can turn down the PW and slow it down also.

.257 setup is .115″ tophat.
.308 is .085″. Same valve but stem is different. Smaller hole.

Gun works good at 3200-3250 psi with PW 6. Only has 10 fps spread in 5 shots.

I’m just seeing what it has.

With the set top hat, you really have no way of tuning for shot count is this right and the hammer would be as sort the main way of tuning or does the numbers get better with the pw turned down.

100 gr.

I’m buiding a setup that will let me run a 4500 tank. I want to be able to shoot at 3800-4000 psi for heavier bullets.

What size hammer you using

Did a shot string today with .257.

1105

1088

1072

There is definatly more in it. I might need to up the hammer weight to open at higher psi. This was 3500 psi with PW 12.

quote Dyotat100:

Shot 5 shots today and it still amazes me how efficient it is at the speed it is shooting.

Cedric was standing right there when I did it. Only used 250 psi for 5 shots.

Going to start on a new valve Friday and then a nice long shroud to quiet the beast.

I have this 5 shot string I did.
