25 caliber string
I shot a string with my Condor while shooting JSB KIngs at 100 yards.
I shot off the hood of my Ford Explorer with a Caldwell range bag and used my fist under the pistol grip.
I shot with and without the Airhog and POI did not change. This was noteworthy because I had just drilled and tapped 6 holes in the two bushings and centered them, prior to that POI would change as much as 5 inches.
Power wheel was maxed out and Top hat was at .070.
Starting PSI was at 3000 PSI I shot 32 shots and then my Chrony started showing low battery and I quit. Ending pressure was 2250 PSI. Groups were averaging 1.5 inches.

And you say you got that hammer from Ace Hardware or something along that line, could you describe it further, I lurk around such places.

I lost contact with my webspace so i had to search for the link to this picture.
This is a 1″ OD bronze bushing found at ACE.
I turned it down slightly in the middle, leaving a “belt” on each end to act as the bearing surfaces. OD of the belts is somewhere around .98″ if I remember, and I forget how much I took out of the middle.
I seem to remember shortening it a very little but TBH I cant be certain.
I did not bore anything out of the ID.
There is a very small 45° chamfer on each end, only enough to match the sear surface.
This hammer requires no lubing inside the frame. When I use hammers with delrin guides, I used silicone spray and wiped/buffed the frame.
I see better consistency with the bronze one though, and so far it hasn’t deformed from the impact but Im keeping an eye on it.
Im pretty sure it weighed 73grams, going on memory and Im not removing it just to weigh it. 😉

I dont lube the frame.
I made my hammer out of a self-lubing bronze bushing.
Just cleaned/polished the inner frame and started shooting. Best hammer Ive ever used, so far its kickin ass.
RC i have used fp10 , DRI SLIDE , and REM gun oil,, . i use paslode air gun oil on the o’rings and the barrel where the oring in the breech slides.
I do like the graphite lubes better than sp10 so it wont pick up the grunge. the rem oil is really slippery with the Teflon.

What do you use on the inside of the frame. I usually use a drylube graphite suspended in a evaporative base.
I ordered some Benji Domed pellets today on RiffRaffs advice, while he’s batting a 1000 😆 .
I also ordered a new scope, a 7x21x40 Bushnell 3200, Midway had a great sale on them. I am not getting too excited about grouping until I get that new scope on. Besides the weather here is usually fucked.
I did put the heavy hammer in without the Condor spacer as a preload, so I can see how much the barrel tensioning made, and cut down on variables, like a new scope is cutting down on variables. 💡

make sure and lube the inside of the frame, where the hammer slides too. i have picked up consistancy by keeping all nice and lubed up. i take a q tip and bend it so it will go thru the gap in the frame and lube the walls of the frame on the inside. 🙂

Im sure you checked already, but are your breech o-rings in good shape and lubed?
I get bad groups if the o-ring on the tophat end is dry.
48 yrds. same as before, I’m going to leave it at that fill and do another quick group tomarrow and so on then fill again after 3 more groups before I determine consistancy.

when my condor starts shooting erratic, it usually is either dirty barrel ,loose top hat, or the fps is erratic, so i get the chrony out and start turning the power wheel to the tank pressure that i am wanting to fill to.
right now i have not been worried about my tune very much because of the cold whether down here, what i had the gun tuned to changed like 100 fps and it was erratic for the fps and the accuracy was suffering. of course i had it set up when the temp was at like 100 degrees.
so i shot the gun thru the chrony in the house while adjusting the power wheel until the fps variation tightened up. then went out side to shoot it and the accuracy was much better. so i just left it there, it is shooting in the 800’s with crosman h.P. right now so that is what i will use , n
no need in me trying to super tune when the whether is changing so much. i am just shooting off hand and keeping the gun zeroed for the occasional live target anyway.
any way something to think about.
