264 yard condor groups…..
dont pay attention to the stray shots they were me sighting it in and getting used to the distance…. the middle is the real group…
not bad for first 200+ yard shoot… ive been wanting to shoot this distance for awile and i finally got around to it…

In Australia they shoot air rifles at 500 meters with incredible accuracy. I have to admit the technique is unconventional to say the least but they have a video to prove it.

For the naysayers, I can see .17 bullet holes at 300 yards with my 16x70mm fujinons. But of course those are extremely outstanding optics.
All I wanted to hear was a new presentation.

see there ya go, that’s how i took it from the beginning. dont get to wore out on the guys, and keep posting the groups.
I will get to shooting the condor at 100, to 300, when i get a chance and i will show all groups, with the best.
With my gun , i short fill, and shoot the gun into the sweet spot, for instance, when i shot it at 100 yards , i filled to 1900, and shot the 4 or 5 groups, the first was the biggest like 2″, then the groups came down with the 4th or 5th being the smallest , under 1″, the gun had just begun to settle in, and i ran out of time,
I only shoot 4 or 5, 5 shot groups or so then top off and start all over, this is what it takes to make a unregulated condor shoot with the tightest fps variation. 🙂
wat u guys arnt getting is this is 40 shots… 8 went through the middle all the rest were other places…. wen i said consecutive i meant all shots were in a row with out refilling or other stuff… and yes u can see were pellets hit and were they hit on the target if u have a visishot target but yes it is hard to see them still… but it still works… if i have mislead anyone im srry my bad… its a 2″ “group” in the middle…. But really its more like a 12″ group all in all…
Yes I think the 6 shot groups and throw one out should be the norm, and if all 6 gointo a tight groups so much the better.
But throughout all this controversity and doubting, the one thing that stands clear:
Those who do shoot at those long distance become better shooters and in lot of cases make us more informed shooters.
That and you have to consider, we are blazing new frontiers here, pellets guns have jumped forward in technology with the introduction of modern PCP’s, what they are truely capable of is still unknown, and the potential for improvement is realized each year.
A little story. Which I have told before.
Years ago I had a 20 year infatuation with the M1A, I had several and I finially got to shooting one on my 1100 yard range one winter.
I dialed in 1100 yards on the sight and shot about 150 bullets at a sage bush sticking out of the snow, which was about 3 feet deep on a hillside. The bullets had to travel about 12 feet to hit dirt, and at that range the 150 grain Nosler Ballistic tips I were shooting were captured by the snow and gently put to ground when the snow melted in the late spring.
I found the bullets, all in a 3 foot group that spring and marveled at the fact that the poly tips were still attached to about 75 of the bullets, other than rifling marks, they were undamaged. That same bullet striking meat was extrememly explosive, so I only used that load on things I did not really want to eat.
That fall I loaded them again, rifling marks and all and repeated the shoot fest into the snow at 1100 yards. The following spring,after the melt, there they were, in a 3 foot group laying on the ground.
But only half of them, the other half flew to Gawd knows where, never to be found.
I took them to Nosler in Bend to show them, Big JOhn who was one of the big wigs there was amazed and talked me out of half of them to give to friends.

I would not even try a longer range group, without sorting. and yes the flyer’s, would be present even with sorting,
I am not saying to sit and shoot a group like this on command , but i think it is very possible with several groups shot to come up with a best.
I agree with your assessment of his target.
i have shot allot of groups that one of the 5 went out of the group,then shot another and the 6th shot made a nice group.

Unfortunately in real life the cone of fire you describe does not carry thru to longer ranges.
Velocity decay seems to exaserbate flaws in projectiles, magnifying their wobble. To you southerners that means it gets worse with distance. 😆
Add to that the fact that 1 in ten or so pellets contain a flaw that produces the wobble that folks like Ted in Madison and Yarah have videoed and written about.
In fact we should shoot 6 shot groups with air guns and throw out the worst and be honest about what we did.
As I stated earlier, if he simply stated he shot several targets and the one shown was the best of the bunch because the center shots were clusterd in a denser central pattern making it the exhib to be selected for his post.
At one time he admmitted to this, but the fish gets longer with the telling I fear.

poor guy, yaw give him a break, I think that the target is possible, but he just got carried away the the exact circumstances that it was shot.
if you set and shot 30 or 40 shots at a target with your gun in its tune you could expect to get a cluster like that in the middle.looks like about 20 shots scattered with 8 or so in the cluster, hard to tell, how many shots did you shoot at the target?? and there is no way to know that the shots in the middle were consecutive, unless you walked the 264 yards after each shot.??
My condor is capable of under 1/4″ at 50 , so i will have under 1/2″ at 100 when i gt the chance to shoot more 100, and i can shoot 300 at the range i am a member of, but of course that will have to be perfect conditions, my 100 yard shooting was very limited to after and in between shooting big bores while at the range, i have only shot 6 or 8 groups at 100 yards with my condor on paper and all were under 2″ or so, and 3 were 1″ or under . the groups that were shot there are several that have 4 shots well under 1/2″ THEN THE 5TH opens up the 3/4″ or 1″ or more.
top target is 100 yard with JSB 14 grain. bottom target is crosman 14 grain hp, me or the gun have it going on for 3 shot groups, but one of use is loosing it for the 5 shot. 😀
now if we get it together , that’s 1/4″ 100 yard, now that make ‘s the condor capable of 1″ 300 yard groups, I know, it’s reaching out there , but with some work and perfect conditions, i think it’s possible. Make that a lot of work, i can shoot 5 shot groups at 50 yard under .221, the size of a 22 cal pellets,but i can not do it on command either. 🙂

Look up chairgun and that pellet and load, there is no way you can zero on the target.
I also do not believe that the barrel in a fixed fixture will give a 2 inch group at 250 yards with Kings or any other pellet consistanly like he says. There are to many flaws in the projectile which will cause wobble.
Then you add in the varible of dimishing air pressure effecting velocity and therfore drop, if you have ever shot a Condor you have experienced this, tethering helps, which he did not do, but even with tethering, the presure has to drop enough to open the valve on the fill nipple which will vary veleocity.
It is the statement that once zeroed on the target, he consistantly one after another shot the x ring that lost me.
For me, it is myth busted.
