Q:

30 Calibers Bobcat vs Cricket vs Matador

I think we know enough about the initial offerings to prompt a discussion of which one we might prefer and why. Even if you don’t plan on purchasing one I would be interested in your thoughts on a selection process in case I am missing something. All three seem to be in the $2100-2200 US price range. They all seem to be in relatively the same power range (75-89 FPE) although some may be more easily tunable than others. There are so many other things to consider…… Triggers, barrels, looks, weight, size, accuracy, support, previous experience, manufacturer, OEM vs. dealer customized, loyalty, availability, features (magazines, adjustments, safety, etc.), etc…

So which one do/would you want and why? πŸ™‚

Very nice. I saw a couple of folks thought they were first on the list and that can only mean trouble. 😳 πŸ˜† We are certainly looking forward to the LW testing.

I bought a BB in 2008 and transitioned to an iPhone 4 early last summer.

WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went back to my old BB and can actually do things again, like read and send email without waiting five minutes for a single sentence email to load over wi-fi (I can read it in the stack but when I open it it say it can’t load, ONE FUCKING SENTENCE and it won’t load). And then there is the data, BB was using 5MB per month, the iPhone doing the exact same things was using 150MB per month. FUCKING SCAM. It has NO functions worth anything, the phone was four years newer than the BB and had a fraction of the stuff. It was like going from a nice european sports car to a fucking Yugo.

You can’t assign different sounds to different email accounts, it won’t turn off and turn on on a schedule to save battery, it will only search for new email every 15 minutes (all things a ancient BB will do right out of the box). Battery will only last for just under two days, total joke since it doesn’t do ANYTHING and gets worse reception. If I would have paid full price for it i’d have lost my mind. Luckily I got it for close to free and I use it now as a wi-fi tablet and glorified iPod (which is about all it is good for anyways).

I’ve owned many, many Apple products (even the Apple II back in the 80’s) and for the most part they are great. The iPhone is TOTAL SHIT. TOTAL ABSOLUTE SHIT.

Wait, weren’t we talking about airguns?

The main issue I see with the Cricket 30 and the EdGun 30 is….

THEY ARE UNAVAILABLE… PROTOTYPES ONLY…

I say one year minimum before anyone sees the EdGun 30 in this country and at least six months before the Cricket is shipping in a proper manner.

So that really leaves one that is ready now… But, is the Bobcat in 30 even available right now? πŸ˜•

And now youΒ΄re my new hero. Sorry MG but a man with this much wisdom and pathos against the POS Iphone deserves to be noticed and lifted onto a pedestal. Heil the newest hero !

I have to agree as the Mac is a great computer! Never used a Samsung phone and never will. Oh well, enuf said, back to guns.

The bobcat is fugly and I would not buy one but then again I don’t like FX guns even though I own 3 of them. 😯

You ,Sir, are my new hero in this Forum. All heil the new hero (sorry H 😯 😯 T) ! FX = overrated and overpriced (in USA) airguns.

Here’s the .30 cal Cricket with its own Neil CF shroud 35.5″ TOL, just as quiet as the .25. Even made a single shot mag for the new owner. Don’t ask there is a conflict who getting it, I’ll even take it no issue with me. next week I’ll be tuning the .30 cal with the LW barrel and more to follow. She settled down to 87 FPE and vary consistent shot string.

Ernest

Cool. I bet Steve would send you one. Are you using JSB 10.34s? I have access to a 100 yard indoor range (actually just a warehouse) but it is about 15 miles away and only available on the weekends. I used it to test the 17 WSM rim fire but it will be perfect for a 30 cal something on initial testing.

Yep, 18″ barrel…

Was shooting 890 but recently jumped up to 910+, looking to get it under or around 880 for better accuracy.

Have a 50+ yard INDOOR range to play with now.

Will be heading to it early tomorrow am to do some serious accuracy testing. Going out right now to look for another spring before I cut my current one down.

No. just the full power one.

quote synopsys:

SE, did you get one of the low power springs with your Cricket?

I think you will see Crickets available in a few weeks. So is your .177 a standard length?

quote synopsys:

I haven’t seen any 100 to 150 yard groups for the BC either…

The 30 cal accuracy test have been at distances I shoot my 177 at.

I don’t want to claim conspiracy but it’s shaping up to be one real quick like.

Do you have any idea on what the production runs will be in the Crickets. I got my 177 Cricket from WW. :thumb:

I was told a 4 month estimated wait on additional 30 cal Bobcats a few weeks ago. I think the Crickets will be available much sooner (because of my direct contacts with WW). Also, I think the Crickets will be tuned to the customer which gives it an another edge. The LW barrels for the Crickets will be in next week per Steve.

LOL – I am the worst offender on threads. Apple made so much technology mainstream but they have fallen behind. It seems inevitable with large companies.

Sorry to derail this thread SE, anyone know about the availability of the BC and if the Cricket 30 is headed toward mass production?

I see Ernest is testing his compact 22 but don’t see ANYTHING regarding the 30cal Cricket at 100 to 150 yards…

My 80 year mother uses an iPhone. Enough said. Google has advanced Android on Samsung phones faster than an NSA wiretap. I have the Galaxy Note 2 and am awaiting the 3 any time. πŸ™‚

Let’s just put it this way.

I question the intelligence of people who think the iPhone is great. 😯

Let me frame that though.

Just as I would question the taste of people who think Justin Bieber makes great music. 😐

The iPhone is like Justin Bieber, popular and total shit.

I swear by Apple computers (I have both Apple and PC computers) but their phones are straight up retarded. OS9 was far superior to the dumbed down OSX just as XP was superior to W7.
