Q:

30 Calibers Bobcat vs Cricket vs Matador

I think we know enough about the initial offerings to prompt a discussion of which one we might prefer and why. Even if you don’t plan on purchasing one I would be interested in your thoughts on a selection process in case I am missing something. All three seem to be in the $2100-2200 US price range. They all seem to be in relatively the same power range (75-89 FPE) although some may be more easily tunable than others. There are so many other things to consider…… Triggers, barrels, looks, weight, size, accuracy, support, previous experience, manufacturer, OEM vs. dealer customized, loyalty, availability, features (magazines, adjustments, safety, etc.), etc…

So which one do/would you want and why? 🙂

I’m not really sure about what you said. How do you really feel about the iPhone?

I bought a BB in 2008 and transitioned to an iPhone 4 early last summer.

WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went back to my old BB and can actually do things again, like read and send email without waiting five minutes for a single sentence email to load over wi-fi (I can read it in the stack but when I open it it say it can’t load, ONE FUCKING SENTENCE and it won’t load). And then there is the data, BB was using 5MB per month, the iPhone doing the exact same things was using 150MB per month. FUCKING SCAM. It has NO functions worth anything, the phone was four years newer than the BB and had a fraction of the stuff. It was like going from a nice european sports car to a fucking Yugo.

You can’t assign different sounds to different email accounts, it won’t turn off and turn on on a schedule to save battery, it will only search for new email every 15 minutes (all things a ancient BB will do right out of the box). Battery will only last for just under two days, total joke since it doesn’t do ANYTHING and gets worse reception. If I would have paid full price for it i’d have lost my mind. Luckily I got it for close to free and I use it now as a wi-fi tablet and glorified iPod (which is about all it is good for anyways).

I’ve owned many, many Apple products (even the Apple II back in the 80’s) and for the most part they are great. The iPhone is TOTAL SHIT. TOTAL ABSOLUTE SHIT.

Wait, weren’t we talking about airguns?

The main issue I see with the Cricket 30 and the EdGun 30 is….

THEY ARE UNAVAILABLE… PROTOTYPES ONLY…

I say one year minimum before anyone sees the EdGun 30 in this country and at least six months before the Cricket is shipping in a proper manner.

So that really leaves one that is ready now… But, is the Bobcat in 30 even available right now? 😕

Even with all the bells and whistles of the Galaxy S4, I still prefer the usability of the iPhone. I gave my dad my old S3 and he swears up and down everytime he gets a text message or notification. Tornado alert almost gave him a heart attack once at 3 am. He didn’t know how to turn it off.

Amazing! You learn something new everyday. And I thought the iPhone was the real deal. What a let down!

That’s funny! Same thing happened to me one night. I knew how to shut it off. It happened again and then I turned the alert off. Now I won’t know when I’ll end up in Oz. Although some people think I live in Oz; I got them fooled. 😯

Even though I would never need a .30 cal, but if I do I would go witht he Cricket. Just like Donny sai it’s Apple vs Samsung…Apple fan will still buy Apple product knowing it has defects and behind in technology.

The ONLY thing Edgun is better than all those other gun is air efficiency.

10-15min to Adjust Cricket reg and put it all back together, NO special tools needed.
45min+ to adjust Edgun reg and put it back + special tools needed to degas and chance of tearing Oring when put it back.

Just becaue it’s build like a tank, does not mean it is better.

Does the single shot (Ed) vs magazine (Cricket and BC) matter at all? It’s a factor I am struggling on.

quote Sir Ville:

1. EdGun because i know what i get. A sturdy piece, easily tuneable and easy to work on. Powerful and very, very accurate. A Russian Bear.
2. Cricket because it looks good, is very, very accurate and also quite easy to tune. Powerful enough, although petite.
3. Bobcat – since it´s ugly as hell but it´s also very accurate and has that superb trigger that beats both Ed & Cricket any day. But it´s ugly, ugly, ugly. So ugly even Fredrik Axelsson (Mr. FX) can´t love that baby.

P.S Did i mention the BC being ugly ??

For me? In a word-no. I like the EdGun much more with the single shot version. Magazines are for those who need a second shot. I´m “one shot-one kill” kinda type myself or actually “one shot and if i miss i´ll take another shot another day”.

Cricket or FX.

I had a .22 Edgun and sold it (moving money problems) I do not like the idea of easy to service myself. I want to send it somehwere and have it fixed if I have a problem. I want a .30 as soon as I finish dumping cash in the new house (probably spring time) any suggestions? I do not care about looks one bit function not fashion is what I always say.

Good summary Donnyfl. I am with you on just about everything you said. Availability is another consideration of course.

I have to go with the Cricket at this point. 1 & 2 are close.

1. Cricket
2. Matador
3. Bobcat

I didn’t even get to number 3 and I started chuckling already Ville. Knew exactly what you were going to say. I’ve had an opportunity to shoot both the Matador and Cricket, if I had to go with .30 cal right now. I would pick the Cricket. The .30 cal will probably be around 37 inches with moderator so not that petite for a bullpup. Multi-shot is a plus and it looks great IMO. Its kind of like comparing the iPhone and Samsung. iPhones are great phones but they are a little behind on the technology of the the Galaxy S4. As for as ease of mods, I think the Cricket has an edge in that too. As a person who has a phobia of balloons popping(seriously) If I had to change O rings like Ernest did, that bleed valve would ease my mind knowing no more air is in there. If I did not have to wait another year or more for .30 cal multi-shot matador, then I would go with a Matador. The multi-shot is important to me but that’s just me 🙂
