Q:

308 Corsair

I’m thinking about getting one, whats the pros and cons on this rifle, does anyone have any experiance with this gun? Any info or ideas welcomed and also if any knowledge, what kind or ammo works best. How does it compare to the Jack Haley model. The one thing I do not like is the stock I can say that much now.

100 grn. cowboy slug, dug out of brick wall, measures 5/8ths x 1/2in.

Take out the rear trigger screw, pull the rear bottom cap off, and walla the works ,and the spring, if you do this make sure the gun is not cocked. Thats all.

O.K. and last night I worked on the gun again and I have upped the air to 600psi per shot on the low side so I can now go from 200psi or 300psi to 600psi in 5min. I beleive I maybe able to bring it up one more notch maybe 100psi more but I can’t really say cause I have never tried it yet I will probably only try this if I find I have trouble on the higher side opening the valve. Just been going nuts wanting to try my new gun out but I have been so busy lately its killing me I need a break soon. I must say this gun is really cool, so cool I will be putting a power adjuster on it soon and then you can change settings in seconds.

I’ve never touched mine how on earth are you doing this setting thing?
Seems like there isn’t a place on it to do that.
I won’t touch mine I just shoot it lolol. And if it goes Capuit, back to Randy it goes LOLO.

I fixed it HOOOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
only one more test will it valve lock at 3500psi. I may have lost 50fps. but I saved 700# of air per shot I said it was crazy and I knew it didn’t take that much air to shoot a 100 grn’er at 800. More test will be coming up shortly, but not today my annivesary is today.

Hey tell me how it all comes out.
I have my own compresser and air hog tank, but I’d like to see the results on lower air and FPDS. Thanks Maw.

I’m going to check on a lighter spring for it cause this is crazy, I’ll try it at 3600 like everyone suggests when I get my adapter for my 3500# tank, I guess spring swap is a breeze, so on less air I’ll swap springs, any one know a good source for springs?

See that little clover in the one pic, that is 5 shots, 1 from a previous shot group then two touching, then two in the center so I know that is more then likely my scope setting. The gun can shoot but I am going to have to shoot alot more and try maybe a blanket next outing. 600lbs. from a 3000psi scuba and only 33 shots, Ya think!!!!!!!!

my gun shoots good on 2800 to 3000 but it loves between 3500 and 3700.
207 Foot pounds at the muzel. 😀
The first shots were about one and a half inch but as I shot it I started getting closer groups.

That rifle demands a 4500psi CF tank.

Yup big gun = big air consumption

But all those shots look like minute of elk to me…. 😈

Maw,

Hard to tell from photo’s I know, but it almost looks like some of those bullets are trying to tip on you.

Perhaps too slow from low pressure?

It also could be just the target backing making them look like that.

Tried 2nd target could not hit shit for the life of me, looked at tank pressure and said 2200psi. so I quit.

2 in. target, pressure dropping, remember I’m hooked straight to the scuba tank, pressure is around 2500-2600.

Its a crap shoot, I know, I was trying to lay the gun on the table and it was jumping high, tried some other positions and nothing seemed to work, then I put my gear bag under it and found that worked good for a few, then found out if the bag wasn’t right under the forearm stock end, it didn’t work neither, so gun is sensitive to position.
