308 Corsair
I’m thinking about getting one, whats the pros and cons on this rifle, does anyone have any experiance with this gun? Any info or ideas welcomed and also if any knowledge, what kind or ammo works best. How does it compare to the Jack Haley model. The one thing I do not like is the stock I can say that much now.

second shot 802fps, third shot 643. need more air ,much more air. I only shot it 7 times in the front yard, going to go out and shoot some more tomarrow, the gun seems to shoot stronger after a few shots cause the second shot was 802, and at the end I filled to 2000 and it shot 800, at 2500 I had 840fps. If the gun only uses 600# per shot, then the numbers are inconsistant, or the gun is still tight. Tomarrow will be the big test and I should see if the bullets shoot well, will post a pic. and probably some more numbers, but I’m going to shoot straight from the tank. This thing is using 800- 900 pounds of air per shot, so far.
Fill it too about 3500 PSI and shoot it two times and refill it. Should use about 300 Pounds of air per shot.
I fill mine to 3600 and 3700 psi, it uses 300 pounds per shot shooting 3 shots per fill. I still have about the same air you use to shoot with when I shoot three times 😀
Here’s a number 870fps on 2950psi 100 gr .309, 168 fpe.

Randy has the 357 barrel to change out directly on the corsair breech so that is what he says on his forum
I got some air today you jag-offs, and got a 3500 steel tank 90 cu. but I had to order a adapter fot the port head, so if the weather is good tomarrow i,ll shoot her off my 3000# tank, for accuracy and velocity.
To bad I didn’t hear that sooner alittle to late now.
I think the Corsair is being offered in .357 soon, if not now. There is a .357 Corsair prototype out there.
I can sure do that, and some crono numbers, I want to know this gun well, but I will probably just go with the 100 grners I posted on shaggys write up for I do not like spending to much for ammo, I do not expect the gun to be all that accurate because of the regular + barrel, no rifleling.
I’m also thinking of trying to tune this gun alittle tamer, for a couple more shots I think they are just wasting alot of air. I may get some of Jerry’s slugs also just because he is such a good guy and the TAG would get a kick from the test. I would like some heavy bastards of course.
Did you get that gun? It will be great if you could post some groups when you get it.
BTW, Jerry has some good slugs for the 308, you may want to give that a try too 😆

Thanks Shaggy I think the gun is a real winner, and I wish he would make one in the 9mm cal. but for now the gun seems to be the best one for the money and performance.
When I first got mine it was shooting 115 grain in the mid 800’ds, I haven’t fired 100 rounds through it, and right now it is close to the 900 mark on the first shot at 3600 Psi Fill.
I get four good shots in mine and it will cut the bullet holes at 45 yards.
The gun shoots good and has a hammer forged 4 grove barrel on it and that means speed wont have an affect on the speed of the pellet.
I have shot 76 grains in the 1050 fps scale. I’d say now it will shoot maybe 1100 since it is getting broke in good.
I have go complaints on mine.
In the beginning it shot slow and Randy had me send it back, and now the more I shoot it the faster it shoots.
Now for the test of test,,, I fired it at 25 yards into 2 Lowe’s heavy treated 2X4’s back to back, and it didn’t even slow down the pellet, I’d say it could still after doing that, it could explode the one gallon water jug demonstration seen on YouTube. the pellet I use is the 115 grains from Hunter supply. I have both the round nose and the flat nose and they hit the same at 45 yards. At first the groups was about an Inch at the test distance but now they hit close to center,,, so close I’m not resetting my scope. The gun shoots flat out to the 45 yard range and thats a good air gun shot, I don’t go any farther.

I never shoot it over a few time and then I refill it and put it up and leave it filled a few days and try it again. That tells me if it holds air good, and it does and it is always ready to go.
Don’t own one so I can’t advise. By the looks of it I’d call it an “introductory big bore”. I doubt it comes anywhere near Jack’s quality and power (stock and action).
I found out some info now on the gun on you tube and mr hollowpoint, now I’ll try Jack haley.
