410 Woodwork

Given that I have a surplus of stocks for my 410 I’ve been toying with the idea of doing this so I can have a better cheek weld when using a NV scope.

Been wondering the best (easiest) way of doing this since I traded a newer beech with an older one without the rosewood caps on the pistol grip’s. Finally came to me today – break it down into triangles. And no, I wouldnt do it this way if I wasnt going to be using bedliner after…

Made a simple jig from a 2×4 and run the flat side of the forearm agaisnt it so cut off the entire comb.

Then with a trusty miter saw I’ve never used since wife brought it home I cut the ends off.

The ends will be bonded back to the stock with a filler peice to bring it up to the level it was before the saw took away material.

This is how it looks until I get around to making the metal adjustment parts.
