Although this is a Vulcan forum, this is a photo of the last time I was at the range a couple of years ago shooting my Cricket out of the box without any work done to it. At the time my Cricket was slinging 18-grain JSBs at 925 FPS (which has now been powered down to 10 FPE with 14.3 and 16 grain JSBs). My Cricket is one of the older first-generation ones with the full delrin valve. Until now, my Cricket still has it even though I have a couple of the newer valve. The target on the bottom center was shot at 25 yards when I was checking POI before zeroing my scope. The barrrel on this day wasn’t cleaned since getting it new. The group consists of 14 shots. The target on the top left was shot at 50 yards and again it is a 14-shot group. The target on the top right was also shot at 50 yards and shows a 14-shot group. The pellet that landed on the left was due to a crosswind I miscalculated. Sorry I didn’t include in the photo something to compare the group size to, but I think the bullseye was less than a half-inch.
Here is a photo of a 25-shot group done last week with my TX200 at 27 yards with Beeman Kodiak 21-grain pellets. (Are they the same as H&N Barracudas?)
I also agree Key. I was a sporting clay and skeet aholic and have several nice shotguns. I just wish I could tell you more about my Vulcan accuracy.

Do you have real-world evidence and results to actually prove that the Vulcan’s barrel is superior to all the others you stated especially against the barrels on the Crickets and Mutants which have the same CZ barrel that the Vulcan has?
Yes I do have real world experience. My Vulcan is more accurate than the Taipan and Cricket (both very accurate guns) I am very happy with both the Taipan and the Cricket. I would recommend both guns to anyone if the features met their needs. But if your needs include long range shooting in a small package then the Vulcan is without equal. I really couldn’t care less what gun someone buys. I am not trying to convince anyone to purchase anything. Seems like there is a lot of back and forth going on this thread in an attempt to justify the poster’s personal gun. I say the only solution is to buy them all then you won’t have to argue which is the best.
Regarding “champion” shooters, they would never pick a bullpup to compete with. Pure target guns are different. They have a different requirement. I’ll give you this analogy. I also wing shoot and shoot sporting clays. I have a Perazzi MX8 for clay competition . I also have a nice 28 gauge Francotte double gun for upland hunting. Now if I were to take the Francotte on the sporting clays course I would do very poorly overall. However I am a class A shooter with my Perazzi. Does that mean the Perazzi is a more accurate shotgun? No it just means the Perazzi is more suited for the clays game. Now I do not shoot quail very well with the Perazzi. I have tried it. The birds get up and turn hard, I need a faster swinging gun for that kind of work. The little 6 pound Francotte double is deadly on quail. So my point is each type of gun can be more accurate in different shooting situations. Horses for courses.

The barrel of the Vulcan may look different, but if it shoots good then perfect. I will say this, though, from my experience shooting my guns: I’ve never had any problems with my AA S410, AA TX200 springer, and Cricket’s barrel. They all shoot with precision. My AA S410’s crown looks terrible (long story), yet can stack pellets granted you’re within the power curve. NO WORK has ever gone into any of my guns’ barrel – no polishing, voodoo magic, or sweet-talking to them. None.
An ugly barrel that can shoot good is a good barrel without any problem. A pretty barrel that can shoot good is a good barrel without any problem. A pretty or not-so-pretty barrel that can’t shoot good … maybe … and just maybe … the problem is with the shooter. 😉 Or, the problem is from another part of the gun.
Keyser I wish I had a 100 yards plus range where I could practice. So far it’s 92 yards the farthest kills so far. But know gun is definitely up to it further down the line

What caliber you have? Which pellet you used and what’s the velocity it’s shooting?
Haggargd 616 , I’am not saying that the Vulcan is the best of everything , because , I have never owned or shot every type of PCP Airgun on the
market . I have only owned two PCP Airguns in my life . First an Airforce Talon SS in .22 cal. and then up-graded it to a .25 Talon SS . Then I bought
a Vulcan .25 which is the last of my PCP rifles . Not jumping on the band wagon for this gun . However , compared to my Talon SS it is so far more
superior in shooting power and everthing else than my Talon could ever be without trying to modify my Talon SS. The Vulcan with the same scope
that the Talon has out shoots the Talon . The scope is a Vism 3-9×42 w/red laser built -in the center of the scope . At 54 yds. I can put 27 25.39 gr.
JBS pellets that can be covered by the size of a quarter . I don’t know about you and what you expect from a PCP Airgun , but , speaking for myself
I think that this is truely a very nice gun that shoots great from the box without any problems or adjustments which unlike so many other PCP airguns
that are on the market that for what ever reasons needs extra work or mods in order to make it shoot right . You should if you can try and find a way
to be able to shoot a Vulcan and it doesn’t matter what caliber you shoot . Your thoughts about this gun may change once you have the chance to shoot
one . If you never get that chance then you are the the only one with the sarcasm about the Vulcan .

I agree with Keyser. Nothing to get excited about once one have/had them all. The Vulcan is the best of them yet. Taipans and other spineless crawlers oughtta take a bow 😉
Today I made 3 shots at 153 yards on 3 starlings in a 6 mph wind. All 3 stoned. The shots were on a 16 degree angle and the shot required 7.4 mrad holdover with 1.5 mil dope for wind. That’s a small kill zone and a lot to ask of an airgun. I have 2 witness to the event. The barrel don’t dirty like a cricket barrel. The gun is very special. BTW I have or do own all the aforementioned barrels. I have had enough bullpups not to just get excited about the newest gun.
Vulcan and Cricket are about the same accuracy in .22 caliber at 20 yards so far the longest I have shot these guns. Outside of this I have not a fucking clue.

Yes, I got it foxback. 🙂 As a matter of fact, I’m looking into getting either a Vulcan or Mutant to add to my collection. It isn’t mainly about the barrel but other factors I am still weighing into the decision-making process before placing an order because I know the barrel on current bullpups (and any well-made airguns) today will out-shoot the shooter when fed the correct pellet(s) unless the maker had a few too much Stolichnaya while on duty. :winkn:
