accuracy problem Edgun Matador R3M 25

I am from Europe.
I have Matador 25 cal standard version since yanuary 2015.
So far I fired about 3000 pellets and 4 times I cleaned barrel. Speed had set at 285 m / s and using exclusively JSB Kings. (Ed advice me) .
At chrony test standard deviation is 3 m/s, which is great.
The scope I using is Tac Vector FFP 6-25×56.
Generally I am satisfied with the rifle, but obviously I have a little problem with precision.
The best group of nine pellets at 50 meters is 35mm, which is not great result. I saw that Matador be much better

So, what was the problem/solution?
Yet it was the main cause of the imprecision clipping …
I took off the shroud and thoroughly cleaned. Not seen traces of clipping, just fine lead dust (all buffles were as new and undamaged) .
That is why I was 100% sure that it is not clipping the cause of my problems, but here I was wrong :suprisedn:
I took off my shroud and test groups were much better. So I drilled all buffles within shraud 1mm bigger than the factory was.
Now hole is 9mm. I tested again and noticed that of my 9 rounds in magazine, 2-3 spiral flights. I reduced the speed of the existing 940 fps to 900 fps and got what I want 🙂 I have also used CHRONY and noticed that it was now extreme spread only 7 fps. Hammer is less noisy, and the noise of the shot.
I am not person who love a lot of experimenting with a gun, or any other tool. When I buy a new gun and pay a lot, I am expect that is perfect from the box. But that’s in my case it was not so, it is obvious Matador is not perfect gun, and that you have to customize it by themselves.

For the sake of argument not sure if you guys are aloud silencers over there but sure some have them take a shot at a 5 mm dot zero to it now add a trusted silencer take the shot again the silencer isn’t clipping but the shot shoud be way off the 5 mm dot in and direction Ie barrel silencer harmonics air strippers have the same affect used by target shooters this s why serious target guns don’t use silencers or shrouds
I’m agreeing with you hoot by tightening the barrel your holding the baffles secure in the shroud which then In turn stops them shifting which then stops the In accuracy issues I’m just saying it dosnt have to be clipping the baffle to cause in accuracy if one baffle spins every shot your pellet will take a different flight every shot due to different air dispersion through the baffles
Try what I say you that have silencers your poi will shift when adding different or taking of silencers or shrouds with baffles

Do “harmonics” change the path of the pellet? Is Dave right? Who am I to say he is wrong? I can’t prove anything either way. All I can suggest is what has worked in the past. Let’s make this as simple as possible by the process of elimination.
Three elements are involved in accuracy:
1) The gun
2) The shooter
3) Other factors…pellets, air fill pressure, regulator changes, shooting conditions, are most common.
Let’s start from the beginning. The gun, as I read this thread, was never accurate! Since we have no starting point of accuracy, we have to eliminate the three possibilities, which again are the gun, the shooter, and other variables.
First let us eliminate the “other variables”. Easily done, use the same pellets, same starting air fill pressure, maintain same fps at the muzzle, same shooting environment. That leaves the gun and the shooter as suspect.
If the gun is gripped in a vice, the shooter is eliminated as a factor in accuracy. If accurate when shot from a vice, then the shooter is most likely the problem. If not accurate from a vice, then the gun alone remains in question.
What parts of the gun affect accuracy, if all other “variables” have been tested or eliminated…, we must suspect the barrel and the shroud components.
(you can shoot the Matador without the front shroud and baffles. Simply unscrew the baffle nut and remove them. The barrel does not need the “pull” of the baffle nut to stay in place for what we are testing. We tried shooting with/without shroud nut…accuracy was not effected.)
Now, with the gun secured in a vice, the shroud/baffles off. What happens? (warning: loud as hell!) is there a measurable difference? If “Yes” the baffles/shroud become the prime suspect. If “No”, then the barrel is suspect. It’s all that’s left that effects pellet flight and accuracy.
If it’s the barrel, contact your distributor and ask for help. A barrel change is not that difficult.
If it’s the shroud/baffles, either ask the distributor for a replacement, or drill out the holes in the baffles a few thousandths. That has always done the job in the past when the baffles were in question.
That’s the process of elimination that has been tried and tested in the past. It has worked before and there is no reason it cannot be effective in this case.

Use google theres plenty info out there on the subject why do u think u get poi shft when adding a silencer it isn’t c lipping the baffles its the dispersion of air affecting which flight direction the pellet takes
Do you have any proofs? Hoot: :hoot: Hoot: is for a different theory. So am I.
It’s not my theory it’s a proven fact if the baffles bore isn’t consentric to the barrels bore the harmonics will cause accuracy probs just as you’ve sufferd

Ok if the pellets flight through the baffle isn’t simetrical u can get turbulence which affects accuracy jst like the op as sufferd google barrel silencer harmonics and it will explain it a lot better than I can there’s a lot of pressure going on inside a silencer shroud and the pellet dosnt have to strike the baffle to cause in accuracy by opening up the hole the op as calmed down the turbulence which in turn as stabilised the pellets flight pattern

I just ordered 12mm X 1.25 nuts from amazon to try the same thing with mine

I do not know what is not clear in my posts, all I nicely explained? But here I’ll try again: At all bufflers there were no eye visible damage caused by pellets.Because it never doubted that the clipping comes.
My conclusion is that some of bufflers touched pellets during shooting (maybe a touch was one hundredth of a millimeter), which is invisible to the eye, but enough to cause bad groups …
As for shooting without shroud, I do not know what is your rifle, but my Matador R3M Standard with 25 cal, can shoot without it.
When I was unscrew him, I took off muffler and I pulled the second part of the tube, so that there is just barrel.
I tried to move the barrel by hand, but there is nowhere moved from center. I went for a test shoot, and got a much better group.
I hope you understand now ???
