In michigan ANY weapon that is over .177 caliber and has a RIFLED barrel MUST be registered as a firearm in the state of michigan if we want to get right down to it.
But that’s beside the point that I was joking around and only one person got his panties in a wad over it.
Knife I’m aware of how the law works buddy and that the state law can’t trumph the federal laws but there are people in jail right now over just that type of conflict and without the money for proper legal representation how long would you want to sit in jail on principle? I know that I cannot afford proper legal representation to get things fixed while I sit in jail hell I couldn’t afford bail.
This is all besides the point that I was joking around and only one person didn’t get it and thought it would be time to make things personal.

as I don’t have much time before work, I have just scanned this thread, FF it’s not about future customers, or about you serving in the armed forces, I will thank anyone that protects our rights! this comes up every so often and it just pisses me off weather it be in joke form or not. The ATF dose not reside over air guns or anything that goes on them As long as it Can Not Readily go on a firearm, even in joke form people believe it. and yes I do think you and all air gun shooters in your state should stand up and let your officials know they are being unconstitutional and just generally fucked in the head, if one state can get away with it and all the minions comply quietly then others will have an easer time doing it as well.

FF, on a more serious note, the Federal LAW prohibits any State, or Local Government from deeming a Air Powered gun a Fire Arm. The Mich. law, along with a few other States rulings, is UN Constitutional. This is probably what was meant. It will stand until is is challenged in a high Court.
On the silencer thing. The Latest ruling say “Be used on a Fire Arm Without modification”. No can be with. Not easily, not with a lot of trouble. WITHOUT MODIFICATION. Pretty much cut and dry. It had to be addressed as it was far too ambiguous. As it stood, if you owned a lawn more muffler, Soda Bottle or a pillow, some jack ass could claim that you owned an illegal device. 😉 😆
One example of this, is the adapter that used to be sold at some Gun Shows. It would clamp onto the bbl. of a 10-22 and allow you to screw a plastic soda bottle on to it for a temporary suppressor. It was legal for a while. ATF ruled on it and it is now illegal. Note, it isn’t the pop bottle that is illegal, but the device that allows it t be used as a suppressor. This part would make a suppressor with out modification. A pop bottle by it’s self isn’t illegal, as without modification, it cannot be used. Even the use of duct tape to attach it would be considered modification. Our Shrouds cannot be used-on a fire arm with out some modification. Even if no more that the Mod. being Duct tape!
Just because a Town, county, State passes a LAW, It doesn’t set it in stone. Especially when it is in direct conflict with Federal Law, and the US Constitution. This is why Laws are changeable in the Courts. 😉
