Long story short, A cop was shot and killed with a PCP this fueled a police driven law change to require a firearms licence to own a pcp rifle but with a the typical idiots in parliament they didnt reclassify PCP pistols so no licence is needed to own one of those.
A rifle is defined here in NZ law as any firearm over 762mm (30″) this leaving bullpups in limbo as they were not “rifles” but clearly not pistols either.
So…. Another law was passed to require anyone importing a PCP rifle or pistol to apply for a “Permit to import”… all such permits for pistols or bullpups under the required 30” minimum length are just denied. The ones already here however fall into a grey area of the law that is undefined and are still able to be owned lawfully.
Im sure glad I didnt solely depend on the Edgun agency to pay my bills because I be out on the street now..
Just like the rest of the world our government are imbeciles.. Anyone with any brains whatsoever would have just reclassified all airguns regardless of powerplant, shape, colour, length, pistol or rifle on energy capabilities just like the rest of the world, eg UK with its 12ftlbs limit before requiring an FAC..
So the end result means I cant even import a Crosman Marauder .177 pistol with 13ftlbs but I can make my own .50 cal PCP pistol with 250ftlbs and sell it to anyone over 18 even without a firearms licence…

So on a serious note how does one import evil airguns into NZ? I thought you were the Edgun dealer for NZ. Maybe the rash of airgun bank robberies is the impetus for this new law?

Im a little disappointed as AGT offered me one real cheap for testing and reviewing and I must say I was looking forward to handling this one..
Knumb-nutts! Why not have it sold to someone outside of the island, and have them re-mail it to you as a “gift”. Or, send it in two or three shipments as “parts” for “repair”. Technically, that’s not “importing” something, it’s receiving something! That’s the way it is on the island of Arkansas.

Those guys are stressed after the fruitless Submarine – hunt a couple of months back so it’s understandable.
Oh yes, I remember that. Hairnets were lost in the laundry and the brave defenders of Swedish crown had their long hair exposed to mighty winds of Baltic sea completely ruining the hard work of Sven the hair dresser. No wonder the morale plummeted and they found nothing but some senior fishermen to blame.
What an ordeal … All those hairnets got flushed to the Baltic Sea and many Seals,and Tumblers too, got stuck on them and most of them died. Those who did survive got outlaughed by other Seals since they looked kinda Gay with trashy hairnets permanently stuck on their heads. Even Seals are judicious and cruel creatures …

WM, let’s hope that this is designed like the Theoben like you said, just to hold the bolt open. The cocking indicator is very German. That is a fantastic idea, I would find that feature very useful. When do you think you’ll have one for testing?

That sucks, Wingey. I´m getting my Vulcan .22 in the end of January – or that´s the latest word anyway.
