Q:

AirMax P15 .25

Came last night. nice looking little pup is light as advertised. Spits AA 25.4s 796fps Hi, Lo 576 from just adjusting the hammer spring. trigger not bad nothing in the paperwork on what the reg is set at.

Pulled the stock off as i was unscrewing the rear mount bolt i heard something spring loose. nothing fell out lol. inspecting the bolt threads you could tell how far it was screwed in. so i screwed it in to see how far it moved the trigger rod that was what sprung free.

looks to be about 3 or 4 threads sticking through the hole hitting the trigger rod. i put it back together and just left out the rear bolt the front bolt holds it fine for now. i’ll cut a washer for it later. the side lever started out a little rough. the arm link seems to be hitting a square corner left over from milling i’ll hit that with a file later. not really crazy about the 11mm scope rail but looks like skilled laborer could whip up a weaver rail in no time. on sound at 1 meter away 796fps on my cheap sound meter 114dba, 1meter away 576fps 104dba.
ok so instead of making a washer for the rear mounting bolt i went ahead an sawed of 5 threads. that seemed to work best.

Wow seems like the p15 also has a weak hammer spring. I shimmed the hammer spring .200 with ptfe rod and picked up 35 fps. Bad thing about the p15 it doesn’t have room for a lot of adjustment. I’m 2 turns in on the hammer spring and it’s shooting 855 last check.

Yip 125 to 130bar.. it may have a small plenum if it cant get 900 from that

Wingman should I turn it down to 130b, what say you? I have it backed off full hammer 11/2 turn shooting 25.3/820/825fps.

Ok exhaust every hole that’s supposed to be 5.5 is. 200b fill highest shot out of 9/843. I didn’t change the reg setting it’s set at 140b. About 40 shots since I set it at 140b. Still shooting JSB 25.3g.

Ok gun back from the airgun Doctor. Marauder.25 barrel transplant a raving success! Has the 5.5mm barrel TP. So now I’m waiting on a 5.5 drill bit to finish up the small stuff. With the Simmons 44mag scope it weighs 6.1lbs.

Valve exhaust and TP through barrel

Yes but you have a reg so set it up to work with the reg..

5.5 on the valve exhaust?

Yes but you have a reg so set it up to work with the reg..

quote Wingman NZ:

Why are you trying to run it withput a reg? Just drill your tp to 5.5mm and pollish off all burs. 130bar should then get you 900fps

You posted that the 4.5 TP would be suitable to shoot without a reg. Just thought I’d give it a try.

That wont work as without the springs it will close at low pressure.
Sorry I misunderstood.. I thought the reg breathed through the rear threads like a P12 whick only means putting an oring on the plug to run without the reg.

Yeast that will be fine

Wingman I guess pulling the piston was wishful thinking lol. It just started leaking from the vta hole. How about pulling all the washers off the piston and reinserting it back in the reg? Mine should be back sometime next week.

so for .25 calibers it s not well tune by the company..it s good for .22 or .177 but not for .25

Indeed not for .25!
