Do you live were I live? Do you know the economy & real estate market here. Like I said there have been 8 new building permits issued in the last 6 months. That’s down from 8-10 per month. In the 7 gated communities (which are 90% 1 or 2nd vacation homes for the rich) there are 3 new homes being built that is down from 5-6 per community. Ocean font acre lots that were selling for 2-3 mill. had to be reduce to 1 -1.5 & they still are not selling well. All the million dollor vacation condos are 1/2 empty & 2 projects stalled out. 4 new subdivisions are stalled out as well, 1 being a high end w/ golf course on th ocean. They almost all are taking the wait & see attitude. Meaning they have the lot & are sitting on it. 1/3 have put there homes up for sale but no one is buying. 1/2 of all the general contractors have folded or went back to the west coast. The same with all the subs. Developers of subdivisions are short selling inventory to get rid of them & that’s not working. You have no idea what the hell your talking about.

No new construction my ass. I install AC and most of our serious business comes from new construction. Rich people get richer while the poor get poorer. Rich people need houses too!
This has nothing to do about being the best architect My work has been featured in Architectural Digest on 2 occasions. It has everything to do about quality of life & remaining in the location I’m in(I’d rather live here, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, making less money & have a better quality of life than move to the mainland rat race.), we only have 15 traffic signals) I have had several job offers from firms around the country but I don’t want to relocate my family or business. I have been through a downturn like this in the early 90’s when the Japanese recession effected the Hawaiian real estate & construction industry. All the fly by night & coat tail riders that came here to cash in disappeared just as is the case now. This is a small vacation destination town & only the professionals that are part of the community survive. I was laid off from my office job with a very large natioanl builder called DR Horton but have always maintained my own company & it is doing just fine.

The best Architects are always in demand, no matter the economy. Sorry to hear that you can’t find work or buy toys.
Ummmm…………., if you haven’t noticed NO ONE is building anything right now. The construction industry is dead. No new new houses, commercial projects put on hold. Especially in Hawaii(where I live, California, Arizona, etc..) In the last 5 months there have been only 8 building permits issued, EIGHT! I’ve been laid off since November & have been doing odd & end remodels to survive. I have a family of 5 to support with 3 kids in private school & one starting college in a couple of years so…………. no, right now I can’t afford a $400 toy. It would be grossly irresponsible to my family to do so. You should not assume things………….it makes YOU look like an ASS-ume.

I’m an Architect & don’t go around telling everyone that doesn’t have a certain type, style or build of house or appliances, furniture, etc. that their house & everything in is a piece of crap. Sell it & get a “real” house. ❗

best bang for the buck i have ever bought was my 410 erb which was 690$ from pyra (with 10% off, and before the price went sky high) i sold it but whished i hadnt….but it had to fund a rapid i was so in loved with….BUMMER !
i still think the 410 series is one of the best rifles you can get….but 900 bucks is steep for most…especially when you can get a nice rem700 for that kind of money…..or a really nice .22lr which isnt that much more expensive to shoot than a .22 airgun that likes jsb, hehe
right now i would prolly go with the marauder if i was on a budget and wanted pcp for springer rws34, but then again unlike most i know 12 fpe placed right will kill most small game….and the general population dont…you want a sweet pistol go with the hw40 beeman or marksman clone….40-45 bucks at wallmart, sweet trigger….can leak a bit but is fine as long as you shoot within a minute or two of cocking it….if it leaks return it…get another one….
Well said. I think I just reacted to the way you worded your response. It sounded a lot like some of those who swear their high $ import guns are the end all be all of guns & everything else is a piece of shit along with anyone who buys one.
The 34 is by all accounts a great gun but it will never sell to the masses mainly because it’s not on the shelves. They could market it just like the others with “PBA” ammo @ 1200 FPS.
I still think 85% of the buyers don’t know & would never know or want to know because they are not that serious about it. For example I did a site visit to a house being built. I know where every imperfection & mistake in every inch of the house is. To the layman the house looked great & they never would have noticed & really don’t care after I point things out.
I’m happy so many airguns are being sold because it means our hobby won’t wither on the vine. Those cheap guns pay for our quality guns directly & indirectly. I just wish guns like the 34 were more available to the masses to force the competition in the low end.

i strongly believe theres a market for “lesser”airguns….and i do belive the avarage airgunner that dont go to forums to research and ask questions…will be happy ignorant that a hatsan is good….until the day he tries a rws34 and sees ½” group it will print puts the hatsan to shame…they will likely blame the scope or mounts when it fails and not the gun….and yes i know power sells…and it sells really well…the avarage person would prolly go for that hatsan or gamo from the specs alone…who can say no to 1600 fps lol…squirrels are probably happy cause they miss 50% of the time

did u notice how i keep saying rws34 ? you can get one of those for under 200 bucks with a 10% coupon ! very close in price to the hatsan
i also said hatsan will be fine for the weekend vacation house rifle plinking cans
BUT when people asks in a forum like this it is to get an opinion from serious airgunners….because they want to know
i have had tons of fun with 20$ rifles that is sold at markets and such places….they can be fun when you just wanna relax…have some beer…shot pine cones or cans, from the hip and such thing….impress friends with the recoil etc….but that is it….
and thats why i try to tell it again and again….power isnt everything…to get people to stop thinking that hatsan 30 fpe rifle is gonna be awesome…the 12 fpe the 34 puts out will bring more joy in the long run when you figure out you can shoot the stalks of the roses, and swat flies 30 yards
