Barrel made it here but the bushing was not threaded for the shroud. I may be looking at something wrong or I may of not got everything in this shipment. I will call and find out.
Still waiting on the barrel but I hope to have a update soon.
I am also sizing down to .2497 so I did not have to cut my LW 24″ 25 cal barrel. It shoots JSB’s into the same hole at 65 if you keep it in the 50fpe range.
The 87 grain increased the dwell. Its like dayotat posted above. I have a chrony and the 7 rings are running in the 830s so that is around 107 FPE. The heavy Eunjins are running in the 970’s for around 90 FPE. Kodiaks in the 1050 range for around 78 FPE.
This is with the old barrel:
I shot the condor today at 75 yards and the normal group is between 2-3″ with the 87gr. I also like to take out other airguns and shoot just to make sure I am not having a bad day. I shot the Mrod at 75 off the same rest and with sub 1″ groups.
I am thinking from what everyone has posted that the 900-1000 fps will be the best route for accuracy. The valve I have now will need 50 to 60 grain ammo to run at the fps you guys are shooting.
I am hoping I can shoot in the 830’s and still group good with the new 257 barrel. We will see hopefully in a week or two once I get the lead cut and a sizer made.
If I have to drop weight to increase my FPS I am thinking of hollow pointing the mold vs cutting it down. I wish there was a way to try some different ammo before I get to messing up a mold.
Once I get this all worked out I am looking forward to working on a few animals here in Texas.
It’s because he is shooting 87 gr. If he was shooting 70 gr the fpe would be lower
Here is the difference in my gun
89.5 gr at 925 fps for 170.1 fpe
70.7 gr at 1004 fps for 158.3 fpe
Same fill pressure same setting.
I take it that your accuracy is bad. 120 fpe is plenty of go for shooting 200 to 250 yards. “IF” your gun is accurate. It’s hard, very hard to believe you are getting that kind of fpe out of a modified Condor valve. 😉

Well my barrel should be here Tuesday….. I have had the valve for a while about 40 yards was my max range shooting 87 hunters supply at 110 to 120 fpe. With the 257 I am hoping I can extend the range. I have to have some work done before I can test for accuracy.
It would be nice to have the info and pics so i could post it up on the 257 page.
I’ve asked Will Piatt to send me pics of the Korean conversion 257’s but i’ve heard nothing. Oh well……………. Seems only the Haleys and Doug conersions wanna go down in history.
Having readily available info sure is nice……….but someones gotta give it…..lol
I asked Randy the same question and he told me he would try it with his extreme valve and the 257420 bullets and report back. That was a couple weeks ago so you might bug him about it too.
I was the only one doing .257 condors with my valve.
R&L just started offering them. The extreme valve is just a ported condor valve.
No one?

well got it mounted and shot a few. Accuracy was on par with my LW. Now to have the lead machined and set up for the 257420 mold.
