I strongly suggest holding off on ordering, until I can report further developments.
My order arrived yesterday (Friday 10/21/17). I got quite a surprise…and it wasn’t shipping related.
I will explain more later! For now…patience. I want to give Michal every reasonable opportunity to respond to the email and pics I sent him yesterday. His customer support has been extremely courteous and timely up to now. Whatever happens, it will be informative and interesting about ordering stocks from Poland, and how well they stand behind their product.

Wow. That sux. My stock was a bit tight but nothing like that. I prefer it slightly (so he said – lol) tight as it arrives to loose and have had half a dozen custom stocks made in the US that required slight sanding and fitting but not grinding. I will check mine for any hairline cracks developing but I am pretty sure there aren’t any.
Update: The wood looks very good on mine. No cracks of any kind.
It seems there are several problems. A bad piece of wood and some inletting error or could your gun be slightly different?
If anyone disagrees, I beg you to take into consideration this: You sold a stock you carved and the buyer says it didn’t fit. Instead of giving you time and the option to make it right, the buyer takes a dremel to it and demands a replacement.
I’m not here to defend the stock marker because something obviously was wrong here but have some patience before taking it on yourself to do a hackjob and ask for a replacement. I would side with Hoot here if he had waited. I still think he deserves a discount for a cracked stock with bad fitment if he took it upon himself to fix it. As for a replacement, I would strongly say no at this point.
+1 Elegantly put. Hoot should be shamed of himself for what he had done, not hacking the stock, but trying to publicly shame someone into doing something and possibly ruining his business and reputation. Shame!
That crack is unacceptable unless he offered you some sort of discount but why in the hell did you start hacking it up prior to hearing back from him? Mughram had a slight fitment issue with his Mutant short and his return shipping was paid for my the Michal. If something is wrong, give the guy a chance to make it right before taking a dremel to it. I know you expected perfection as would most others but having some patience would have helped too. Any reasonable person can’t ask for an exchange/replacement after hacking it up.

Not all his products are crappy, this is the first One I’ve heard of. Mine is great.
Hold on Hoot,
I think Michal will send you a new stock and stand behind his work,,,,,,
If not, I think he will lose a lot of sales from this side of the pond.
You can not stay in business with crappie products , No matter what…
My offer is good , If you get your new stock in, And I am sure you will.
Mike
Well , I will be ordering the .25 Mutant Shorty when they come unto the market , as for getting a nicer stock for it I
do not believe that Osyda will be getting any business from me . As far as I know the .22 cal. shortys’ stock should
be inter- changeable the .25 cal. shorty and if so any body who has changed out their .22 shorty stock and would like
to sell it at a fair price can PM me . I plan on doing something different in design and need a extra stock to work with .

GKU…what is the alcohol trick? I’m stripping the stock, sanding out the minor dings in the stock…still trying to figure out how to fill a hairline crack that does not seem to extend into the wood more than a few mm’s. The crack line does not need repair…it needs to be finished so it doesn’t show up as a dark line in the stock. There’s got to be a woodworking trick to accomplish that!
I’m off to get some stripping compound to remove the oil finish. Then I’m faced with doing something about that damn crack line…two of them sanded out, but the long one remains.
I’m going to use Tru Oil for the finish. The stock is walnut so no stain is needed.
Hoot:
The alcohol trick is use by wood cravers and wood worker alike to find cracks and imperfection in the wood there about to work with/on.
If you have a wood in question saturate it with denature alcohol and let it air dry if there is any cracking or dry rot it will show up as darken areas that haven’t dried out yet.
I don’t guarantee this, but you can opt this if you like.
Remove any screw(s) if any from the butt plate.
In the receiver well drill a hole larger then the diameter of the screw to be used so it’s a loose fit in the hole.
Drill it down to the crack and stop.
Using a smaller bit for tread to bit in, drill slightly deeper down into the same hole to the proper depth for the screw you’re using.
Use Tight Bond Glue, the original one ………. don’t use clear epoxy it’ll show up as a black line after finish.
Give it a good rub into the crack with hard pressure.
Install the screw before the glue dry’s, turning a bit at a time you may see the crack actually start to close.
Sand a refinish as you where, with the crack filled and or closed it may become unnoticeable after finishing.
But more importantly help preventing this crack from running/creeping in the long run.

Hell No…I’m not pleased! For over $330 I expect a stock free of cracked wood! Would YOU buy a new $330 replacement stock at a store with a visible crack in the butt???

Wow,
I hate to sound like a hard ass, but not really,
It sounds like its a buy at your own risk,
Michal is saying he made it right and if its not right with high wood cost and shipping its not his fault…
That’s my :2cents: and that’s what I get from it…
I would like to hear what meaning you guys are getting from it???
Mike
I see what he is saying…..
Hoot if u were too loosen your rail, & move it, would the stock fit??? 🙄
But still the stock has cracks in it. 😐
Let him in on the simple Alcohol trick, it’s free.
It’ll save him a lot of repeated heart aces in his future and his reputation as an artist.
An artist must know his/her medium/methods.

So are you displeased? Or was his awnser sufficient to you? Just wondering what your take on it is. I just inspected my own stock and it is flawless when it comes to cracks and dings.

Here is Michal’s response…I will not judge the man, I took the chance, and the consequences are mine to deal with.

Hi. I’m sorry to hear that the inlets need to be correct. This stock was made for mutant shorty off course. Stock for mutand standard has rail (with eights) much moved to the front. I have original file from manufacturer (Taipan) for a standard version. When I’ve made first shorty version I get measurement from Kevin (Attachment). I’ve send him stock and everything fits. Then I’ve made next for Brand and another for Kevin (different shape) still was ok. Every of this stock fits to gun without correction. Only Brand tell me that he must a little move rail back and It was enough to fit. Maybe You should made that , without milling the wood. In attachment you have pictures with measurement from Kevin, all fitted stocks (without inlets correction). I really don’t know why, where is the problem. If moving a rail cannot help, that seems to be 2 version of mutant shorty. Maybe they changed something in meantime of production. I try to make stocks as best as I can. When I was not sure for inlets I would ask you to confirm that. But other people placed block in the stock without this wood work. I hope you understand me, I know that my English is poor.
About hairline cracks. Without smoothing with sand paper they wasn’t visible. They was hardly to see when I was sanding the stock but they where, so I reduce the price when I see them (note: he said price adjustment was for knotholes) . Maybe when the wood fills oil , it comes to be bigger. I buying first class wood with 8-10 % water. It standard for the stock. I’ve paid 50usd for one piece of wood for one stock. It’s not cheap so I’m not expected to see cracks like this. But they are.
If something gonna happen with the stock (it breaks or makes a chink) I will make you another stock without any costs of your site (even shipping). I know it’s hard situation with this expensive shipping. That I really try to make best job as I can. But situation like this makes me really worried man.
regards
Michał
In closing…it’s not the worse deal I ever made online, but it certainly wasn’t what I expected. Make your own judgement on this…I merely report it so you are aware of one outcome with his business.
Hoot:
I doubt the cracks are a problem, since the buttpad is screwed on in a way that holds the two different sides of the cracks together. But I agree they should not be there. Too bad you had to use a dremel but at least the stock fits now and it looks good. Maybe he will give you some money back rather than a new stock? After all he is just person and not (as far as I know) a fully fledged business.
Also, the crack can be seen on his picture he sent too you.

Elmer and Tbear…Today’s word is “objectivity” (ob-ject-tive-ity).
I posted the facts on the situation, as I knew them at the time, I never demonized, or ran the man down…before, during, or after. Nor did I ever “demand a replacement”. I made the comments below, and I’d make them again…because I believe they are fair, objective, and I accepted responsibility for my own actions.
“It’s a beautiful stock, miscut, hairline fractures, but I really like the design and checkering, and it fits like a glove…now. I can’t say I’m real happy with the result. I was expecting a “drop-in” stock, no fuss, no bother. It just didn’t turn out that way for me. Perhaps others have had better luck.
I sent Michal all the above pics, and a few more, with a lengthy explanation yesterday. As of today…no response. Due to the nature of his business I am giving him the benefit of a doubt. He doesn’t read his emails every day…he’s busy. So, I am not drawing any negative conclusions about his customer support. Time will tell. Up to this point he seemed to take a personal interest in my order. I have hopes he will replace the stock…but I’m not holding my breath on that. The hairline fractures are my main concern. I don”t believe there is any way to cover them up on an oiled stock with the grain showing through.
Here is Michal’s response…(copy of his email) I will not judge the man, I took the chance, and the consequences are mine to deal with.”

Now girls…any of you bitches objecting to my manner of sharing my purchase experiences, or my decision to repair a miscut stock, can run on over to Airgun Nation and whine there. Perhaps they will give a shit…I certainly don’t.
Warmest regards…
