AZ tuned BSA Super Ten
Sent my BSA Super Ten to Allen Zasadny for some work….I can
not Emphasize how quiet this thing is now..Screw on LDC with
end cap to protect threads when not using LDC….Trigger is match grade
1 stage, and the fill adapter mod is a have to have….Cocking bolt
is cool too but everything else over shadows the knob….

So everyone is clear, the thread has been moved as it now has nothing to do with Mam’s rifle and instead is just about the practice of drilling tanks and the safety of such.

For the record, my personal feeling is that drilling out a tank is not inherently unsafe as long as precautions are taken, the same as overfilling. However, just because something is not “unsafe” that doesn’t mean that it is as safe as it was before, and that is the point at hand. I don’t think that an AZ rifle is going to explode or dump, nor do I see a 3500psi Airforce Tank as a ticking bomb, but I do think that they have eaten into the otherwise huge safety margin that untouched tanks have.
I am not an Engineer, mechanical or otherwise so my opinion is just based on my experience, common sense and huge intellect. :p
Quick fill mod or no quick fill mod. This is what a fine tuned rifle can do.

A big deal was made about the thread over there on this topic. Check the responses. Just about nothing, and what was said was the usual I’m so Scared!!! The Government will tell me what to do for my own good.

God knows how many of these mods, and not one has gone bad. And alot of time tested ones also.
Surely THAT alone is proof enough that this is a safe mod?
How many test crashes on a car before it is classed safe?
If it does reduce the integrity of the tank, it clearly DOES NOT reduce it to the point of faliure.
