Bandsaw
I went to Harbor Freight to check out the tumbler’s and came out with this on sale –
It barely fit my trunk and then was a b&%$h to get assembled…. Worse than the mill and lathe.
But its worth it not having to use a hacksaw or reciprocating saw and then spending ages cleaning stuff up in the lathe !

Saw, my portaband is the Milwaukee big throat. Have had it near 10 years and no complaints. My other bandsaw stands near 7 ft tall, an older-than-me Walker Turner behemoth that must weigh near 400-500 lbs. I use that one only for…. ugh…. wood.

The new blade fits inside the old blade, so new blade is smaller….

Saw, the broken blade’s ends touch when wrapped around the new blade – so its too short.
GTBJ, Tracking isnt an issue. tension adjustment is at the minimum amount.
I’ll see how the new blade works out when it shows up.

All this talk of band saws I am looking at porta band saws as I speak, thinking the milwalke is the ticket

the tracking is adjusted the same as a wood one, it has an in and out adjustment towards the bottom of the tensioning screw, but it looks like you need an allen and an open end to adjust it.
The knob on the left is probably the tracking adjuster 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

there isn’t that much adjustment on your saw to compensate for a 1/2 inch?
which on e do you have?
edit – I looked up the owners manual and as you have it in the up position there is a knob on top looks to be dead center above the slave wheel, that is your tenchiner.
YN, forgive me if I am wrong but wouldn’t that mean the blade is too long ?

The two ends of the broken blade touch wrapped around the outside and have 1/2″ overlap going round the inside.
If they were the same length I wouldn’t expect the ends to touch around outside.
Going to call enco and ask for a replacement.

Got the replacement from Enco – fits perfectly. Now I just have to get everything lined up again because I took EVERYTHING off trying to get the undersized blade on.
