Q:

Barrel Guided Hammer

Bought the stuff to do this a month ago. Got tired of waiting for my new machine so I desided to make it on my little lathe. Will be so much faster and easier with digital readout. I was having problems with gun not cocking under heavy spring load. Played with it and figured out it was the delrin on the front of the hammer where the hammer slap mod is. I put a new one on and it cocked perfect. I guess with the edge worn and the play in the hammer it wouldn’t hold anymore. Not any more. Hammer is guided by the barrel and feels like it is running on butter. I had Tony’s hammer and it weights 93 gr so I desided to make the new one a 100 gr. Also put the o ring back in the hammer. Now I will use the 95 gr in the .22 condor I’m buiding until I figure it out and make another barrel guided.

Hammers are $105.00 ship any size with hammer slap mod.

Hammer looks great Dyotat100 looks like that new lathe and you will be making more of those. Great job cant wait to get it, now I need to get another valve from TTunes so I have two different set ups. Thanks for the great work.

Best Regards

so i guess you found a way to make it cost effective…so with the nylon core, will there be size variation issues, or does the nylon have a little give? if you start doing these regularly, i may soon be in a position to buy one depending on cost and how work goes next couple of weeks…pm me with any pertinent details when you get time.

Here is a 105gr for YamahaR1 as requested. Amost dont want to sell it. I think I have it figured out know. Bearing nylon is real fussy when it comes to cutting it. Making a 95 gr also today or tomorrow. I will make them any size you want with or without hammer slap mod.

What caliber do you have? That was for my .25. I have to check the .22 barrel size. It is about .10 smaller, at least the one I have is. What could I get for one?

going to be selling these? Thanks

Good job on that hammer looks like a good upgrade, lol.

That hammer is bad ass!

Thanks. Yeah I saw that also. 120 gr stainless. Leupy’s also sells one but only for smaller diameter barrels. Wasn’t that hard. Next time I will run the nylon in another 1/2″. The bearing nylon doesn’t cut as easy as derlin does.

Looks good!

I’m expecting a full range report on it’s operation!! 😆

I saw a post in another section about a barrel guided hammer, interested to know how they work… I know my hammer worked better once I got some proper lube in the id of the frame…
