Q:

Brand new Airwolf?

So I received my suppose to be new Airwolf from AOA but he screwed up my order.

No magazine, WTF? Do the guns ship with out them?

I ordered 30mm rings I get 1″. I’m starring at paper weight!

I bought a used brocock pistol from them about 3 months ago over the phone. It was advertised as LNIB. It came and it was a piece of crap. It wouldn’t fill and the trigger and bolt was jammed. The rear sight was missing about half of it. Emailed them about it, they had the audacity to tell me that the person who took my order told me over the phone that it was broken and needed to have special parts made for it to work. I think it was Kip? That was a bunch of bs. They then apologized and claimed that calling me a liar was due to a “miscommunication.” They said he thought that was how the conversation went. They pissed me off so much I called my credit card company so they would pay for return shipping and refund my entire amount including the original shipping.

With that much scuffs, I would not keep it. That is A LOT of money. I am never going to buy from them again.

Ok, the marks at the end of the tank are normal. The slight scratches are probably packaging marks from shipping. The marks at the butt plate are the mold release being effected when they screw the buttplate screws into the end of the stock.

Now, the busted on/off plastic marker is totally fucked.

That is a new rifle that had a part busted off of it in transit.

Kazz, the quality thing is the key, sure to some folks 200 can feel as much as 2000 but don’t expect top notch quality for 200 and so when you open up that box with the chinese springer for 200 expect it to look like it was finished with a chainsaw instead of a white glove. A 200 dollar rifle will hide far more shipping marks than a 2000 dollar rifle since the finish is already compromised… The thing is many 2000 dollar guns are shipped in the same type of packaging as 200 dollar guns… But that isn’t AoA’s fault. 😉 Although if it was me and my company i’d add all kinds of shit to be absolutely sure it would survive the UPS experience.

I thought I was able to insert the magazine from either side, no?

Yes no signature required, after all you only paid XXXX I guess this is why carriers report millions in losses every year.

quote SteveinLA:

For that kind of money it should have been right…I guess we all agree on that.

I do not agree.. For some 2000$ is much, but also for some 200$ is much!
For every $ it should be fine. That’s called SERVICE.

So if you buy a ford or so, and they deliver it without a clutch, that’s ok, because it’s not a ferrari?

Steve at PamonaAirguns is a good guy for sure. I have also had good dealings with Kevin at Straight Shooters. I hope this helps.

Have you communicated with Daystate? I’d be curious as to what they would have to say about your experience with AOA. It seems that AOA has had as much bad press as good. For that kind of money it should have been right…I guess we all agree on that.

Thanks for sharing/venting. We all need to know about these kinds of transactions.

Before I decided to purchase my AAA from TT, I was going to purchase a gun from AOA. Before I did, I was on another forum and ran across a thread that seemed like a linch mob because of the numerous horror stories about the company. This didn’t totally sway my decision to not purchase from them but, it did get me to investigate dealer reviews much better. I could only find positive words about Talon Tunes and that’s the direction I went.

This spring I will be setting aside, up to 4Gs for a new gun and glass. Reading this post solidifies that AOA will not get my business. It’s not worth the chance to me to be disappointed over a high dollar purchase.

Not only when you buy something expensive as new, it has to be new.
When I would pay 200$ for a new gun, I don’t expect the quality of a 2000$ gun, but I expect at least I get a NEW gun, not a used one. If it is a used one, they should give a big reduction, period.

This is I guess the new business model of some companies. They give sh*t of bad comments, because they sell a majority of good selling guns, so they know there are always people that don’t complain or they don’t know it some parts should be included.

I thought the new internet selling business model should on one hand lower prices because of the less cost of selling staff and stores, and on the other hand better quality, because the competitors would kill the bad box movers..
But, I was wrong 🙁

I totally agree Synopsys. These scuffs to some might be ok to pass as as new but for me it’s not. I own all kind of products other then rifles that you wouldn’t be able to tell if I purchased it yesterday or 5 years ago unless the model has been changed. I baby everything I own! I hate what I’m going to say here but I’m a perfectionist and have expensive taste and to top it off OCD. I’ve learn to appreciate quality though the years and doesn’t always have to be expensive but usually are. I don’t know why I’m rambling but I’ll go ahead and stop now. I’ll post pictures of before and after later today.

It really hurts me to put down a company and I never want to be the cause for them to lose any business as I’m one myself. They had the chance to give me a perfect gun and it didn’t happen, not even on the 2nd try.

😕

I have a feeling they probably have a small inventory of rifles that were returned and they just cycle through them until people just give up and accept the delivery…

For that kind of cash for a rifle it’s not a good way to do things imo…

The one upside of posting the scuffs it someone might go “Hey that was the one they sent me that I sent back…”

The more people that know the truth the better… 😉

I’d think twice about buying a top dollar item from them after these type of incidents. 😯

In all honesty I was just going to let this thread die but since you asked I’ll keep it short.

I receive the gun back and the safety switch now looks to be intact and I have the magazine as well. I have yet to fire the gun as I’m still waiting for scope to arrive tomorrow. I will say that the bottle has a few scuffs now and they weren’t there on the first gun I received, once again this can’t be brand new. I’m done bitching and complaining I’ll just suck this up and move on. As for AOA, they’ve lost my future business. If you guys insist on seeing the scuffs on the bottle and butt stock I’ll upload them tomorrow.

Ig, have they taken care of business yet? 😯

Kazzzzzz,

Not here bro. I can’t even begin to tell you how things are run here in the States. No testing, no QC checks. Here, money exchanges hands and a brown box gets shipped via fedex or ups. Whatever is in that box is what you get. PLAIN AND SIMPLE TRUTH.

I have personally dealt with the dealers/manufacturers in Europe and when i need a part, they send it to me and its RIGHT. Even though i bought the gun at either AOA or Straight Shooters.

EX.: I bought a logun solo some years ago from Straight Shooters and had it for about 6 months and the valve broke on me. I talked to Craig and he said that he would order one for me from FX and i sent him the money. Needless to say, about 1.5 YEARS WENT BY and i never got the part and the gun was down. YEAH BRO….1.5 YEARS! Through EUROPEAN sources, i got ahold of a guy (Liam van Tuinen) that was over FX at the time (still have all his emails) and i told him my story. He was appauled. He sent me the entire vavle and i received it from Europe in LESS THAN A WEEK. Gun has been FLAWLESS ever since.

Wow.. this is sh*t..
Here in EU and I speak for Belgium and Holland, the distributor testshoot the gun for you and looks everything is ok. If not, you’ll never know, because you get a good working gun and the other one is going back to manufacture.

I guess from what others are posting, it’s a hit or miss depending on who’s watching QC. Because everything here was checked and not all was included.

Top 2 from the bottom were off…
