bushing venting questions*EDIT* PICS ADDED
well i stripped the condor down tonight
polished the frame and barrel breech area
now i am going to vent the bushings a few questions
should i vent both?
and can the venting be done with out a drill press?
i dont have a drill press
i have a drill and a dremmel which i have high speed bits for dremmel
if i need a drill press i wont be venting the bushings

I missed that, thanks for the reminder – 1/8th is what I did mine. Better to be too small than too big I think (but am by no means an expert).
Not to but in on your post but I didn’t see anything mentioned about the size of the hole to be drilled if it was I missed it thanks
Jeff – I wasnt expecting to notice a difference but it was a vast improvement. I was unhappy with the noise of my Talon SS with Baffled frame. Enough noise that it needed a longer shroud to get it as quiet as my shrouded .25 Condor was.
After I vented the frame its quiet enough for me and as quiet as it was with a shroud which extended an extra 4″ (Guess it would be quieter still with the 4″ shroud and the vented frame).
How much will the noise decrease with a shroud, vented bushing, and hole drilled in the frame vs just a shroud? YN? Crowpopper?
LOL. I’m such a dumbass. I realized after I posted. The stupidity of my question. No my bushing is not vented. I guess I’m going to HAVE to get familiar with it. Oh well, if you can’t laugh at yourself right?
I removed my barrel – there is quite a bit of shavings produced. You could just leave the gun assembled but I wouldnt highly recommend removing the barrel (and the hammer/breech/spring).

Ok thanks again. Two more questions. 1. Did you use the frame screws as a guide and just drill one inch in front of that reference point? 2. Do I HAVE to take it apart to do this? If there’s nothing in there, any minute (sp?) amount of aluminum that might get in there should be blown out after a few shots right? I know guys drill and tap their exhaust manifolds and all they do is put a little grease on the bit for the shavings to stick to it.
No hissing noise, just do one hole – I did mine 1/8th in the channel. Put it just in front of the rear bushing. The hand guard covers the hole if you screw it up and it also helps deflect the small blast of ar so you wont feel it.
OK thanks guys. When you vent the frame do you hear any “hissing” type noise from the hole or holes? I imagine we’re talking about some very small holes in the channel of the frame correct? Y.N. did you only put one hole?

That will work fine because your not drilling the center (if you were drilling the center it would spin like a wheel).
Yeah thats kinda what I was thinking. It would also be easier with a drill guide. I seen some at Sears for $30.
