We all know that AF had taken a beating
backing the chinese accessories such as
the previously often returned chinese air pump…and other problems such as I had like the older chinese rusty screw tri-rail…and probably other accessories that AF made good on because they do care about their customer.

AF is/was willing to share the accessory business. Although I didn’t like it, it kept some costs down while it was supposed to keep profits up?

But now if the chinese gov’t. won’t stop patent theft, knockoff copies, and price dumping, it is time to strike back.
Including a new rendition of the other world way of life of ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’.
I would modify that tactic to “Assist my enemies friend to become his enemy also.”

Oh yes, when it comes down to survival of my family and my beliefs in support of fare patent rights, the gloves come off ❗

I’d sooner buy a Chinese knockoff of an edgun at 1/4 the going price.
Then it would be fun to mod it up to acceptable performance.

The point here is not if the Chinese can make a quality product, they can and will if that is to specific advantage. The Chinese have a space program and have been building Nnukes for a long time. In addition to that, they have used older tech more brilliantly than many in the West could imagine for espionage etc. Any generalities about the ability of the Chinese to produce a quality product would be a disservice to the point at hand.

While they could make a better AF gun than AF (and so could AF), they are probably not inclined to do so. That’s my guess based on my belief that it’s still a small market and even lower prices won’t expand the market much.

Now, as dumb as I am, I did notice that we just had a product announcement from someone who even with replies has 11 posts total… I’m surprised only Lurker noted newbie status! If Kongfu had mentioned a repeater, everyone of you guys would have had the skeptometer pegged!

OH, BTW, cheap is nice but so is innovation and risk taking. If you’re a small businessman or want to be, it’s hard not to notice that a good idea will be stolen immediately and only a company as big a GE can protect their intellectual property. It’s not only Chinese companies that steal ideas, I know of a British example in airgunning, but they do run first…

In any case, I won’t be jumping at any Chinese AF parts/guns but I won’t be surprised when funny shaped slugs start coming from points East…

China made is only shitty if the American conglomerate that is outsourcing is cool with crap. It’s not China per say. They have the ability to make quality but that’s not usually the request. Cheap products delivered quickly is the plan and they are doing that. Shit my new deer skin gloves from Cabelas are assembled in China. They are however holding up and I bet Cabela’s QC department stays on top of it. It’s like buying an American car nowdays. What does that mean exactly? AINO? American in name only? Japanese transmission? Assembled in Mexico? We’re global now boys!!!! =)
