Colibri Love
Well after a hiatus I am back owning a Kalibrgun…a new to me Colibri. I put an American Defense 20 MOA scope mount on this Ernest tuned Hummingbird. I am in love. here are some photos:
Want to know how I feel about this Colibri? I’ll let Chaz Michael Michaels tell you

If that’s really the case , They will be back on the market, Even better, and improved Colibri II Maybe even 10 dollars cheaper,
Why take it off the market if its that much better? Its coming back, Just hide and watch,
Mike
Just by looking at the two, the design of the Colibri is more advance and the machining of a large block of aluminum has to be more costly. Before the Colibri was discontinued, it sold for approximately the same price as the Cricket. Sure, the semi-auto feature failed but had they kept it a manual multi-shot, it would still be a great bullpup. I have no first hand experience with either guns but from a design perspective, the Colibri appears to be less influenced by changes to its air reservoir and thus “should be” more accurate given the same exact barrel. Since the rail is machined as part of the action, scope alignment should be near perfect abet the rail itself is on a short side on the production model.
Aesthetically, you can decide which one is more appealing to you as that’s totally subjective but you can’t discredit the improvements of one over the other. The Cricket is a simple and time tested design and with a good barrel is very accurate. The Colibri offers no less in accuracy with an improved design.
I personally think the Colibri would benefit from having a slip on fore-grip that matches the materials of the rear stock (wood or synthetic). With the forward mounted air reservoir, it sets a huge limitation on the ability to balance total length of the gun vs air capacity. The workaround used was raising the fill pressure. A 300 bar max fill is really high on an airtube that’s not protected from being accidentally dropped. That’s the only downside to this design other than the failed semi-auto feature.

What’s a “Hyper Bowl”????

Mike it’s simple economics. I’ll help you with the calculator. If a company produces a very expensive gun (Colibri) and sells it for the same price as a gun made from beer can technology (Cricket) which gun has a larger profit margin? Now don’t get butt hurt because I put down the Cricket, it may be accurate but it is made from Coors cans. The metal work inside that gun is cheap. If you owned a Colibri and a Cricket you would have never made that post.
Now those of us who know also understand that most of that gun (Colibri) was/is made in Russia. Because of the current political climate between Russia and the west the gun is not being brought in by Kalibrgun.

P.S. I guess schools don’t teach hyperbole in Texas?
1000 X better than a Cricket, Did you check your calculator?

Fudd you bastard… Coda they are different guns. Hard to compare. The Colibi is more practical but the Lelya definitely wins in cool factor. I am almost finished with my Lelya video. For such a short gun it is really accurate. The Colbri is super accurate. It is 1000X better than the Cricket.
Yes there is a post on yellow on why the Colibri got longer. The pre-production one looked shorter

good thing I’m a whore… :8:
That turned me off too but who knows what they are making now. 😯 I see the posts mentioning a “New” Colibri on their Facebook site in the last few days. What’s up with that?
Don’t ask Keyser this question. He’s a bullpup whore and would change his mind in a week. If a Colibri Short exists, it would be a no brainer. Make it 24-25″. With a .177 cal it should be quiet regardless of length. Shot count on a higher bar fill would far surpass a Lelya.
Can anyone with a Colibri post a pic up against a tape measure?
This looks like it’s shorter than the production run one right?

Which do you like the best – a Colibri or a Lelya? :fishinghole:
I’d like one of these in .177 caliber. I believe the pre-production ones were a tad shorter?

:hoot:
This is surprising news. I wonder if they have the Silver/Black ones? I always thought one of those in .25 would be fun. Quietest gun, except for Leyla, I ever shot.
Hoot:
Sold, sold,sold, NICE.
I see guys in Europe still getting them new on the Bullpup Mad facebook group. Also Petr from TGAG said the same thing as Keyser. Scroll down to the description

Horse shit Fudd!!!
1) You should go back to your Wham-O Slingshot, and stay away from pcp’s!
2) Guyser Say-So is correct…you probably don’t even own a “Hyper Bowl“, much less know how to use one!!! As any fool can see…the new longer Colibri is a “Target Grade Magnum”! That woman with her hand clutching his sweater is not giving him moral support, she’s holding him upright. That is NOT a shroud on the new Colibri, it’s a “Bull Barrel”. Knowledgeable sources in Russia have advised me the gun weighs in at near 8 kilos!
2 a.) There is no worry about dropping the new Colibri because the 300 bar air tank is now 1/4″ thick chrom moly steel.
(see these, and other facts, in the picture below)
4) The man on the left of the above picture is standing on the side of a very steep hill, shooting at Russian Grackles, straight up! The optical illusion would seem to indicated the picture was posted sideways…not so! Further, little known fact, he is the illegitimate, one-eyed son of Octavius, is an accomplished Grackle/rat sniper in Moscow, and is married to a very beautiful television weather reporter!
DISCUSSION: If you want FACTS…approach the font of all wisdom, ask The Hoot: , as His sources are unimpeachable!
