Condor 18" tony tuned
I ran a shot across the chrony today and got 1154fps with PW on 7…This thing sounds like a .22 mag. without a shroud…I will be really impressed if a shroud can quiet this thing down..Cross your fingers Don G..Wow!

Well I don’t think, I KNOW your Chrony is broken or you are not using it properly, most likely the first. 1,500fps with 15.8gr and an 18″ barrel is just impossible. This means you ‘ll be shooting Kodiaks >1,400fps! Do yourself a favor and call the company for support, or return it and get a new Chrony, otherwise you will never know the real #’s for your gun.
BlueJay: The 1,060 was a typo. I can shoot Kodiaks faster than that at PW 6. There ‘s nothing wrong with my guns.
I meant 1,160 (not 1,060) or 1,154 to be exact as Mamcrackin wrote for his 18″ Condor with JSB’s. This would mean that his 18″ Condor shoots Kodiaks around 1080-1,090fps because I only get a 70fps difference between 16gr & 21gr on mine. I think that’s stretching it a little for a Condor with 18″ barrel. That velocity is 24″ Condor territory. Look at the new #’s – 1500fps? com’on BlueJay.. there ‘s something wrong with that Chrony or the way he is using it. There were several posts here last year of people posting these high #’s but they new enough to realize they were not correct. It was the Chrony every time.
Man, this is unbelievable…..I ran to PW up to 12 just for schiznits and giggle to see what the Condor would do at full power…

Looks like it uses a lot of air on full power…The FPS drops pretty fast…Seems POI would be changing on every shot

I don’t know whats wrong with your .22 only geting 1060 with 16 grains, but I can not shoot anything less than a kodiak out of mine and even they like to go crack now and then and my hammer is bone stock from the factory 😯
I can’t tell you why your guns are shooting so slow, perhaps it’s time to tare them down, give everything a good cleaning, lube the I/D of the frame with silicone spray, let dry, lube or replace the O rings, reassemble and try again. I don’t know but it might help?

Man I am like a kid on Christmas eve waiting for the shroud to get here….I haven’t adjusted the Condor yet, just the Talon SS….I am going to do some testing on the 2300 fill pressure and see where I am….
You will be amazed at how quite it will be with a shroud.
Mine is also 18″ bbl. with a worked condor valve. It is way fast.
Rather than adjust the top hat any more, or the dial, I simply lowered the fill pressure. Works fine. 2300 seems to be a sweet spot for a fill in mine.
oh my bad.. I lost track of the pellets somewhere. Yep those #’s from P/A are perfectly normal for a Talon SS shooting 15.8gr JSB’s.
Not Kodiaks Harry….Remember I am shooting JSB Diablo exact Jumbos 15.8ish gr. A little heavier than what P/A used….
Wow P/A sold you a 30-32.5fpe bone-stock Talon SS. I wonder if they have more of them in stock..
My friend, these velocity and FPE #’s are for a Talon with an 18″ barrel, not an SS with a 12″ barrel. Everyone knows a stock SS shoots Kodiaks in the mid 700’s or 25-26fpe. Talons with 18″ barrel shoot them in the 800+fps range for 30-32fpe.
It seems not only you have the most powerful Condor w/18″ barrel, but also the strongest factory-stock Talon SS too. You are one lucky guy.

Ok so your stock unmodified Talon SS with the standard 12″ barrel is shooting 32.6fpe with Kodiaks? That’s about 7fpe more than what it should be, or about a 22% error. There is definitely something wrong with the Chrony or the way you are using it. Thanks for clearing it up. It makes more sense now.
It’s a new F1 Chrony. 1154 in with clear skies and 1130 avg cloudy skies.
My unmodified Talon SS is shooting 834 on PW 12, 815 on PW 8, and 450’s on PW 0 with the JSB Diablo’s…
Both rifles have 2,600lbs in the tank.
BlueJay, lets take that #: 1,060fps. In my experience with my .22 Condor, the 16gr (not much difference than 15.8 JSB) Predator Polymags are only about 60-70fps on average faster than the Kodiaks through the Chrony. This would make his 18″ Condor shoot Kodiaks @ or very close to 1,100fps (56-57fpe). Most Condors can barely do that with their 24″ barrels, unless they have a heavier hammer.
I still think the Chrony #’s are wrong.
