Q:

Condor .22 cal w/12" barrel accuracy

Gentlemen,
Compare to 24″ barrel, how’s the accuracy with a 12″ barrel @ 50 yard using EunJin 28 grain? Or should I just stick with the 24″ barrel. Thanks.

do you have pic of yours are just the pic you just posted? how quite is yours and do you have the condor tank on yours, plus what do you have your P/W set at.

you want pics of my internals….. um sorry but those are my secrets, I have put a lot of fiddling time into them to get them to preform as they do 😉

there are about 3 maybe 4 people out there that know what some of my very old designs look like inside..but they have been sworn to secrecy with a painful, prolonged death as the penalty of braking the silence.., 😆

but there are quite a few pics around here showing what they look like from to outside.

yes, I’m running the condor valve, or better known as the high flow valve…. and yes it’s quiet. here is a link to a vid of me taking a tree rat with it.

I’m not to sure what the wheel was at in the vid, I was looking through some past notes and one of the wheel settings was 4.9 and with the lack of hammer slap and tank ping in the vid I would be willing to bet that was what it was set at. the main setting for my gun and tune is 8.9 were I get a nice hammer slap as well as tank ping.

don’t look at the wheel as a speed adjuster, it is a main spring preload setter, or adjuster, which is the amount of spring that drives the hammer into the breach and the breach into the valve. when you start messing with it, it will change speeds, but it will also increase the spread of those speeds from shot to shot. there is some “need to read” type threads on adjusting the tophat of the valve and preload wheel in the quick reference section, one of the best was written by tim of mac1, another very good one was written by our very own WoK, I would suggest getting comfy with some refreshments close by and reading the quick reference section ’till your eyes are bleeding, get some sleep, and do it agin, just about everything one could want to know about our beloved black rifles is there…. when .. not if you get confused a wee bit due to intake over load just feel free to ask and one of theses poor saps around here will be happy, if not gitty to answer them for you :18: :18: :18:

holly SHit bat douche… it’s been a long time sence I’ve typed that much…. worn out … must replenish… almost out of beer…. not good 😕

Thanks for the info and injoy your beer. I don’t like to start a open post by asking a question, because it will never get answard and they will end up talking about something that you have no clue about. its like they didn’t here the question. so i appreciate your help. Thanks and I wont trubble you anymore.

oh… I didnt read back, just thought you wanted to see a pic of one… my bad…

I’m sure I saw the pics at one point but can’t remember them, the shroud on that ss is one of mine… there are some examples in the shroud section on some diy setups if you would like to have a go at building one

here is a pic of my condor ss along with an added shroud, which you will need if you want quiet, just a 12 inch barrel and end cap will not do it!

btw – Welcome to the Mad House!

….. come on in, the water’s fine…

is this the same thing that njnoodles did. and did you see the pictures he posted on how to make it.

Just got my condor .22 and want to install a 12″ barrel so it will be quiet for back yard shooting. do anybody still have the pictures that njnoodles posted.

Like this! 😯

Hey NJ

Am eagerly awaiting reply on the indoor test.

If you can do it in a closed room and fire it 5 feet away from the wall.

Imp Note : This test is to be done with the safety measures.
Shooting Glasses and the Perfect Backstop cauz the monster condor does not spare the cheap pellet traps.

Have you tried to fire this setup indoors without a projectile and with a projectile ?

If it does not make the sound of air when fired without a pellet then it truly is an admirable setup.

The reason why I say so….
I have tried different types of custom made shrouds :
But the above test made me practically choose the best of the best

test

Hey NJ,

Does it get the sound report down to like nothing and just the heavy hammer with pellet thud. 🙂

A best shroud would be the right math between the barrel length and the length of the shroud.

…And the right proportion of the 3 compartments you’ve created in the barrel.

How did you come to the conclusion of the 3 chamber lengths.

Was it trial an error or you got them from a pro…..?

Curios 🙄

What you see vented in my pics is the fender washer closest to the breach, Thats not the front bushing. The front bushing should be attached gto the barrel when you get. This is what I am referring to.

Gotcha – was just gonna post and ask about it 😉 well will definatley use your methood and post pics and update you when done. thanks

I have tried everything, and this is by far the quietest diy mod I personally have come up with. The OD of the aluminum tube is 1 inch. Scotch Bright, over time, starts to break down effecting parts of the gun with little dust particles, although others have used it with great success,I personally do not care for it. Definitely vent the front bushing.

Okay – will first go with your way. However please clear one doubt – you have mentioned to vent the first bushing however in the pics the vented bushing is fitted last – If we count first bushing from endcap , however if we count from breach end then its the first – where should this be exactly?
thanks
