Well got the gun cleaned up and grafite, try er out tomarrow, maybe I can remember now to clean the gun the 1st of the year from now on.
I think they shoot very well, in the Condor, I really need to take my gun apart and clean it though, going to try some lead grafite this time on the hammer area, then re-chrony, to see if the # come back up.

A while back some guy on another forum replied to a question about these slugs they were crap and not worth it. I hope he (or it) is reading and seeing yet another example of the slug performing in the gun it was designed for.

That’s looking pretty good! You know, a gun that requires a firm hold is tougher to shoot than one that likies a very light touch. It’s just harder to apply the same firm grip over and over than it is to just barely hold the rifle. It looks like you’ve narrowed down to the right hold though. You could do plenty good hunting as is. Thanks for posting your result!
I shot those at 48 yrds, I don’t have a lot of 6 rings left, but maybe tomarrrow we can shoot the rest up for a decent shot report. Looks good to me, better then the last ones I had, cause there is 5 shots to the left of center.
Guess what Jerry, soon I maybe able to give you a good result on the slugs, for thanks to you, I found out my problem, besides the wind, the main culpit was me, by not holding the gun tight enough, when I give it a nice sure grip it shoots great, here are some shots on a 2 inch target.
Most of the slugs fit like perfect nice smooth slide in, nice, I had 1 that was real tight and it too went in same hole, as to where I felt poa was at Jerry those shots far right I would blame on canting, I have a thick pad I rest my bi-pod on, sometimes the right leg gets pushed in further and I don’t notice it. You know I’m not in competition shooting nor do I confess to be a great shot’ hell the trigger pull could be the reason.
Yeah, it’s hard from that picture to draw any conclusions. I like that most of the shots were pretty good as far as elevation goes but of course, we want them all in the same damn hole!
The left/right issue is mostly a scope, bumping the gun/canting item. Yes, any slug that is not perfect might turn into a flyer that goes left or right but that does not seem to be the problem here. If all the slugs go right, you probably made an adjustment for your favoritr pellet along the way or the gun “adjusted” itself due to bumping, temperature, fill, etc. You can fix the left/right easy with aimpoint or scope knobs, it’s just not a big deal…
I see one shot that is way the hell out. We ought to ignore that one because we’ll never figure it out. Bad shot? Bad slug? Down draft? Yes, yes, maybe? Who knows?
I like the fact that a buch of slugs went through one long hole that is defined verticaly. I don’t like the holes to the right! I know that you didn’t get match-grade slugs but all the same, we try to amke the slugs from one batch of lead so that they are consistent enough that a group stays a group and not two groups…
I don’t know how many of our slugs you have left, but it would make sense to sort via weight or condition before you shoot anymore groups so we can sort out any variables. I’m not saying the slugs are the issue, but it makes sense to be sure they are not!
Sort whatever you have left into a tight range for weight, we use plus or minus .2gr for match grade. Also, if you see tiny little imperfections, set those aside. Then go shoot some more groups. Shoot 3 or 5 shot groups off one fill and then change the target to avoid confusion.
If you have very consistent slugs spraying, you either have the wrong slug for the gun, or, you have a gun problem.
My experience is that if you have the right slug for the gun, then the slugs can vary a good bit and still do well…
I think if you look at the time of original post it has been over a year since I had it apart that is probably the problem right there. And I just shot some of the slugs and I don’t blame the slugs for the off ones it is either me or the wind or sometimes my shroud seems to act up, and the bullseye was a compensation shot, other wise all shots were to the right and I don’t even want to rule out the low one looks like a slow hammer shot. this is at least 16 shots. with the 6 rings at 50 yards.

What’s wrong? It looks like you might want to fiddle more with pressure and preload for a shot curve but is there something else going on?

I think it is probably the hammer, sticky or dry, the weather is also cooler, I have not had the gun apart since the last testing, all I have done is reduce the tension nut on the back of the valve, which I figuired would make it alittle more powerful.

Ouch not so hard, had to take it apart twice last night had the breech in backwards when I was going to screw on the cocking knob, and then the infamous Oh Shit! found out my problem today is the front stud I put my Bi-pod on which is also bottom front barrel screw was loose, was not getting a group from shooting off the bi-pod but was off the top of the padding just resting the gun. So tightenned the stud up 1/2 a turn more and all is well off the bi-pod now. The grafite did not bring up the power any it seems to be even slower except I did not try the powerwheel, last time I lubed it with slick 50 and remoil and alittle silicone just a host of everything and I did have a 50fps increase then what I’m getting now.
