O.K. What you’ve been waiting for, and wow I did hit the 100fpe mark with 15 shots but the string is a little wierd, I shot 25 shots 1st playing with the pw and finally just moved it to 3 1/2 just barely off 0 and left it there for a shot string: 3000 fill, 2500 finish, 60 grn. Jerry slugs, 15 shots, 888.2 high, 846.9 low, 867.4 average,

All I can think of, is maybe more hammer lube, or this spring has a break-in period. The valve is perfect. The breech may stick alittle and some of the slugs are tighter then others. I like to blame the hammer stickin most of the time, but it could be little things that add up to the slower shots out of sinc.
My back is out today plus my door handle broke today so I have to start on that maybe monday I’ll do the full tank and shotstring.

You need to put more air in Maw, if you have the spring and hammer to open it ok. Then you should see high 800s easy, maybe low 900s depending on the valve…

Rent a scuba tank for your testing and such. I rented one until i can get a tank, cost me 30 bucks.
Looks like you need a bit more air pressure to get the front of the curve with the heavy slugs.
Here is a 10 shot string at : 2575psi. 60 grn. surefire slugs, pw 0

This shot string is, with the tagdagger, 100 grm. hammer, and heavy spring, 24 shots, with pw on 0, 2300psi., using crow mags., 26grn.

That’s a pretty nice group Maw. You need to get a scuba tank, or 2 like I have. When the 1st runs low you top it off with the 2nd, takes 1-2min. and you don’t get tired. Look at it this way though, you are getting a workout with the pump and burning calories. What more could you ask for while you ‘re playing with your airguns? 😀
Hey ~73fpe is pretty good with only a 2300psi fill. No need to go to 2800-3k psi. You get a lot more fills with 2300. I fill around the same pressure and don’t visit the scuba shop for a long time. Is this Walt’s barrel? Have you tested accuracy yet?

That’s a pretty good string and you’re getting full power out of the gun with a reasonable number of shots. If the tank was rated for it, I would recommend another 200 PSI as you still have a touch more hammer than air for a true bell curve. The small variations are probably just as you suspect, little things adding up. The differences are small enough that you probably won’t notice in most applications though.
