Condor SS availability
May 2 I placed a pre-order for a red Condor SS .22 from one of the popular online airgun retailers. Originally the estimated in-stock date was May 13 (a little more than a week from my order date, seemed reasonable), but the estimated in-stock date has been pushed back multiple times now and is already more than 2 weeks late with still 3 more weeks until their newest date listed. AF told me they are shipping guns to the retailer weekly, but the retailer told me shipments have been delayed because of AF waiting on barrels from LW.
Has anyone received a Condor SS in .22 cal? How about red? Getting sick of getting almost daily spam from the retailer advertising other items and begging for reviews of the other items I ordered, which I can’t even use yet because the gun has been delayed for so long. All this spam but no updates on my late pre-order. I guess I just want to know, is everyone with a recent order in this same position? Is this business as usual from AF? The retailer is reliable because I’ve received lots of other items from them, but it’s like an information blackout when it comes to shipment date of pre-orders.

I agree the condor SS is awesome ! Very powerful and exstreamly accurate not to mention quite .perfect size ! Stealthy . You are right the target numbers are in the 900 plus fps for insane accuracy ! why shoot faster if you lose the accuracy of the gun . like i said before people get spazzed over fps and ft lbs only to realize they lose the accuracy at higher fps . Not to mention at higher fps you may get the crack of like a .22 rimfire at higher fps .have to agree on how really quiet the condor SS is never herd anyone saying it is really loud ! Nothing wrong with regular condor but it is really loud ! I am just as happy as you are in the condor SS ! For me I made the perfect choice in the condor SS . Enjoy the beast I am !
I also had an order with Pyramid back in April but it kept getting pushed back. I called Randy at R&L and he put me on a list. It took about two weeks and he called me to let me know it came it. Got it 4 days later. Great customer service and great gun. I was going to change over my order to the older style but I am glad I didn’t as I really like this Condor SS. Mine is a .25 in black. Give Randy a call, it can’t hurt.
Also the noise of my .25 is not bad at all. I did install on oring behind the top hat and that helped more than anything. Now all I hear is a click from the hammer hitting. There is almost no noise coming out the end of the shroud. I have mine set to shoot the JSB’s in the low 900’s. See link. I heard the t the .22 might be a little louder, but have no first hand experience with the .22.

Do not take it the wrong way but the .22 is a very good caliber and plenty powerfull ! Also has an awefull lot of different pellet choices and easy to locate pellets in .22 cal
Definitely felt the long-wait frustration before getting my CSS22. Finally gave up and cancelled my Pyramyd order after about the 3rd pushback of eta. AOA had them in stock and shipped one out quick; might be worth calling around to AOA, RL etc and see if anyone has them.
Gotta disagree with the too-loud comments, or at least mention that the fixes recommended here are easy and work. I have the .22; sure, at 3000psi with PW10 and light pellets it’s rimfire-loud; but after gluing a neoprene washer in front of the breech, slipping an O-ring behind the tophat and using heavy enough pellets to keep it subsonic the hammer is the loudest thing and isn’t very loud at all. Can’t speak to the .25 but the .22 is a great gun; I can get 60ftlb with heavy pellets (Deadfish 32 best, EJ32 ok); with the TT insert and large restrictor I can get 50+ good target shots at 35 yards; with HN match 21s it’s grouping as little as 1/2″. It was worth the wait…
also if you order directly from air force and you have a law enforcement background like me or a military background you can get the condor or condor ss with the spin loc tank for like 575.00 .it was not long before i recieved mine but i know it seems for ever but time will go by quickly and it will definately be worth the wait .i would not judge the sound of a gun by what a distributer says. sound loudness varies from person to person and because they also say a gun shoots X amount of fps no matter what gun you buy it is never the advertised fps .like i said on another thread some people get hooked on fps and lose the fact that accuracy is more important . getting back to the condor and condor SS oakey mentioned . as far as compairing the power of the two in .25 cal there is not much of a difference in power if anything maybe 10 ftlbs . Randy from R&L stated to me when he tested the condor SS with the 18″ barrel and the condor .25 cal with the 24″ barrel he said there was not much of a difference in power if any . Randy stated he saw a difference in power in the .22 cal version of same type guns mentioned . he could not explain why but said for some reason the .25 cal are simalar in power ! it is funny how some people look for the power only to realize there gun shoots the best at a lower speed in the 930 range even oakey stated his gun is insanely accurate at that speed so why would you shoot your condor faster only to lose the accuracy you are trying to obtain . its not a drag race to see who gets there first its about hitting your target with consistancy ! getting to the noise compairison between the condor SS and the condor . i shot both versions in .25 cal and own the 2013 condor SS in .25 cal . the condor with the 24″ barrel sounds like a 410 shotgun and is NOT neighbor friendly as oakey can contest . that is why some condor owners who do not have friendly neighbors such as oakey spend the 250.00 for the 9″ shroud . yes it will quiet the gun down but now your condors barrel is now 33″ long not counting the tank and half the frame . now for me i can not stand a gun that is long as a civil was musket .i can not imagine carring a gun that long through the woods constantly fighting the barrel from hitting things plus on top of the gun being extreamly long you probably would have to buy a custom case to carry the condor or you have to take gun apart to carry the condor .as for me the condor with the 9″ shroud is way to long ! for oakey he’s happy ! i am happy that my condor SS fits into my tactical .223 case without taking it apart . i prefer the condor SS .25 cal which is way more quieter than the condor ! there are ways to quiet the hammer like oakey did with the rubber washer . the condor SS is quieter than springers similar to shooting .22 cal CB longs . or compairable to a air penny nailer . and even there are ways to make it even more quieter at a few bucks not hundreds .i do not know why oakey said they dont make mods for the condor SS they use the same internals same gun just different barrel lengths .rapid roy makes shrouds for the SS so does TT .i do not understand why he dislikes the condor SS so much when they are basically the same gun except the condor SS is way quieter ! i know he mentioned to me he should of gotten the condor SS after he realized all the money he has been pumping into the gun to make it quieter maybe thats his way to justify his mistake ? i am very happy killed many animals all ready ! many more to come !
And yes, my order was through PA as well, but my complaint isn’t about their service (although it would be nice to get an update when a shipment date gets pushed back, they manage to send an email for everything else!)

Waiting time sucks for sure, I feel your pain and also waited a month before getting a condor .25 when they first came out. If you can’t wait , buy a regular condor: it’s just fine.
The SS is a better choice in my opinion because it has baffles(for 18 inch barrel) and a revised safety system which was an issue in older condors. Power is the same on SS or old condor, I compared my old .25 condor(24inch barrel) and a condor SS.25 (18 inch barrel) last week and there is few fps difference because the SS had an 18 inch barrel. Also, I can’t have a shroud for hunting in my state unless it came stock with the gun, so using a shroud is not an option since I don’t want to break any laws. :8: :8:
The 2013 Condor comes with a revised trigger system as does the SS.

For my first venture into PCP I figured I’d do it right, but now I’m wondering if I’m going for the sucker’s deal. Looking into regular Condors now, I like the Bounty Hunter stock but I doubt the in-stock listing on that now as well. What other manufacturers in the 4-900 usd range make quality, modern looking pcp airguns?

Darn, I hope AF doesn’t get so popular they take a year or more to deliver like those Comi guns 😆
Or isn’t it politically correct to call them comis now that we helped bail them out 😕
There’s always another agrivation to take your mind off of the important airgun stuff 🙄
going on a month waiting for PA to ship my sound-loc kit ordered it the day they but it on there site keep getting emails to review the item but still dont have my items
I’d cancel the order and forget about it for 3 months ❗
From time to time, especially when rushing to fill orders, somethings get overlooked
Like buying a car from the end of the model run. You wouldn’t believe how much they speed things up.
I still prefer AF brand but some of us have had to fix what they let go.
of course I’ve really got shit on when buying chinka direct via e-butt ❗
It was a wait for me as well to get the 2013 Condor took about a month and half the wait has been worth it.
Oakey
I’ve had one on order with Pyramyd Air for a few weeks. Original ‘in stock’ date was the beginning of June. Now its pushed to the end of June.
I called AirForce and they advised they were shipping in 3-4 weeks for orders placed directly with them.
I’ve debated pulling my PA order and ordering direct from AF, but I think PA is filling backorders in the order received.
I called PA and was told they have 100 rifles odered from AF.
I wait not so patiently and it looks like my birthday present to myself will be late. 🙁
I ordered a 25 – maybe the 22 is more popular? Who knows………
I can guarantee you I will be posting THOROUGH data after I ring out my SS.
I hope to have her soon………………….:)
