Q:

Condor Tank Dump need help

Hello I just purchased a condor from P.A. on initial fill valve was stuck I read post on this forum worked valve in and out to debur reconnected to pump tank would hold air but still dump every time within the first 4 shots
Contacted vender had them send another tank , The new tank took air fine but still dumps within first couple of shots , Valve seems to move in and out smoothly ,and pellets are seated so I dont want to hear that as a excuse for this gun . Im kinda sick of hand pumping this thing to have it dump all the air .I have tried all different air preasure from 300 down to 2200 pound fills with same results . Condor is 177 cal could that be a factor with this bird . Gun is flawless on co2 besides the adapter coming apart after first 20 oz bottle . Should I cut my losses and send it back or is there hope for a 177 cal Condor , I do not want a 22 ,I have all 177 cal airguns shoot paper only .
I will apreciate any input

Yea I agree with using the talon tank . My concern would be if I used the talon tank would I have to Lighten my hammer weight. The Gun was around 850 fps on co2 which I thought was amazing for co2 . but would not want to lose fps on co2 by using a lighter weight , The Lower Co2 Vel is what steered me away from a Talon .I Was not even interested in above 1050 on air . And I feel Most people whom shoot 177 cal are not either , We are mainly field target shooters .
Also did not want to have to spend more money on a talon tank. And wasnt sure if the Talon tank would have a stiffer spring.Anyway have a field Target Shoot next week , They will recieve my gun today .They say about 2 weeks to process and to credit my account . so must be right because I havent had my account credited back yet for the 1st tank they recieved last week .
oh well twiddlin my thumbs LOL

That is not…. NOT a tank dump.
a tank dump is when you pull the trigger and about 2,000fpe worth of energy won’t shut off! πŸ™‚

My mistake!
shall we call it… “tank diarrea”?? πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

LMAO!!!! thank you Benzin…. good one!!!!

oops! just a little correction…
I DID have a tank dump recently with the talon tank.
I filled it up with the scuba, and when i opened the crappy plastic AF purge valve on the adaptor, the tank lost all its air.
The problem was that the spring retairner screw on the tankΒ΄s valve is just “hand tightened” with no thread locker of any kind (i guess loktite is NOT considered “space age grade” by AF and so they dont use it), and so it got so loose that the return spring dint compress at all.
I took out the valve, tightened the screw a bit, PUT SOME LOKTITE ON IT πŸ‘Ώ and put the whole thing back together.
It works fine now.

Yea AdamI agree , Just a little agravated myself like im sure you were that day , oh well what can you do . I just dont want somthing that I have lost confidence in . so I will sit here and pluck away with my old reliable cfx . which holds its own quite well against my buds talon within 40 yds

hehe your right about those CFX. i got one in .22, and shooting below 40 meters, you cant distinguish its groups from those of my condor, my sumatra, or my friends Diana 48. (in all honesty, it actually groups a little better that the D48)
The CFX is IMHO, simply the *** BEST *** airgun you can get for under 400 usd. it might not be german, it might not have “space age materials” (like white tape in the spring JEJEJE), but you get one hell of a rifle for the $200 bucks you pay. As a side note, i wish AF would have at least HALF the QC even Gamo has.

If i were you, i would trade in the condor tank for a talon one. I have that setup on mine, and it is 100% trouble free (on valve issues at least). And besides, i really dont think you need a hi flow tank for .177 pellets.

Best of luck!

OCA,

I got a brand new AA410 .22. I drove a hour to go get it at Pomona Airguns. We charged it and dry fired it. It looked good so I paid cash for it and drove an hour home.

When I got home I loaded .22 pellets into the .22 magazine and put it in the reciever marked .22 FAC to only have it jam. After an hour of messing with it I finally got the magazine out of the gun and called Pomona Airgun. He did not have a clue what was wrong and told me to bring it back. In the mean time I started to think….Hmmmm. I then put a .177 pellet into the barrel and it shot perfectly. The damn gun had a .177 barrel.

I drove an hour back to PAG the next week and he made it right.

Shit happens even on very expensive guns. Just ask the Rapid and Daystate guys.

I believe the tank came its own sealed cardboard tube with 177 cal condor on it . This is not a Vender issue , They sell what they are given by the Manuf. If it is labeled wrong I dont expect a them to remove valve for inspection but that sure would have saved me some aggravation . But if the Manufacture would have got it right it would have saved them a customer who spends alot of money on toys and have the gun cases and toy haulers to back it up . I sill plan on a new airgun but not a AF QC means alot to me .

I said it before: “Their QC SUCKS” ❗ ❗

Sorry you are suffering from crapy workmanship πŸ™

Call Airforce and Bitch them out!

As stated before you have a spring for the .22 in the valve and you need the stiffer spring for the .177

They need to mark those bottles with a sticker so they can tell the difference.

Agreed!!

Amazing isn’t it? they cannot figure out their own ‘design’ eh?

They need BB to point them in teh right direction LOL

Ok I gave it 1 more shot set TH 0.45 powerwheel on 4 hand pumped tank to 2200 pounds ,Deeply seated pellet Went out to to target shot the gun all air dumped 1st shot . reset TH to factory spec Called for RMA # to send back . Savage I raced sport bikes many years gave it up 2007 at the age 0f 48 and do to the economy I feel like the guys racing the Buels that used to race against me on my suzukis , put it this way I cant wait for the Japanese condor to hit the market , Not trying to offend anyone , But its unfortunate that thats the way things seem to be . Kinda Done with this gun will keep shooting my tuned cfx . Would like to thank everyone of you for your help ya seem like a great bunch of guys .

I feel your pain. Agree with you on the importance of the Japanese QC and how it turned a bullheaded Detroit upside down. Japanese bikes set a benchmark for all as well with value for price.
Well said!
Hope to hear what the fix is after you get it back! πŸ™‚

you could always give AF a call for the .177 specific valve return spring; granted you should not be having to work on a new gun but if all else fails…..
