Along this idea, I may go get the Vulcan BP, and design, make my own br stock fit for my own physical dimensions.
Cannot really advise anything, because I have never used Vulcan Tactic myself. So just my humble opinion, not backed up by hands on experience – tactic is a hybrid design, some kind of compromise between a bullpup and a classical carbine. So there is a possibility it will perform just mediocre at all tasks and won’t shine at anything specific.
Having the exact same internal as the bullpup, and all guns can be mounted and shoot without the stock, then it stands to reason that it both airguns shoot shoot exactly the same on average (since not two guns are exactly the same). The only thing difference is how you hold them. That is more logical than the compromise theory.
Ok, I am a rifle shooter and have been for years. My first foray into PCP is my tried and true Theoben Rapid 7 in 25 cal. I love that rifle, however, since I got my Tactic, it has been left in the case.
Accuracy out of the box on the Tactic is excellent, my first group on a wobbly table at 28 yards was one hole
Being 6’4″ tall, the BP version was just too short for me, as are other BP’s. This is something you need to look into, for me, the Tactic fit the bill for accuracy and compactness. I hunt with mine and needed the shorter compactness of a BP, hunting out of a golf cart, I needed something shorter than my Theoben and the Tactic fit the bill for me perfectly.
Also, the forward bolt design is more like the bolt location on a standard rifle and easier to get used to.
FYI My Tactic is a 25 cal.
Hope this helps!

If your a full size rifle man, Do not buy a B/P unless you have shot one and know what you are getting into…..
I do fill a long rifle is easer to shoot, Now , Here we go I did not say more accurate, just easer to shoot off the sand bags.
I do think it takes a little more skill and practice on a B/P design gun, To shoot good.
I thought my Crickets were B/P guns and they are, But the Mutant sets the standard B/P to a total different level…
People feel free to jump in and correct me if I am wrong….

If you have never shot a bullpup before, you should definetly do that before you spend quite a lot of money on one. Bullpup in general is a very different beast when compared to classical design. Completely different point of ballance, you realise that instantly, when shouldering or placing it on a rest. And Vulcan is a short, small and comparatively light gun, so -it has quite a lot of kick/recoild-. It feels to me like an AK74 of a PCP world. And its trigger group also is not a “match grade”, keep that in mind too.
I still like mine in .22 very much. Nothing beats it when you have to shoot from a constrained position in a limited space though. And need to hit with authority, exactly at where you were aiming 🙂 Would replace it with something heavier in a classical design for benchrest competitions or match shooting though.
IF, the Vulcan BP and Tactic are essentially the same hardware, how about if I have two stocks? A heavier stock for benchrest and a bullpup stock for those situations needing a short compact tool, but the same pinpoint, true accuracy?

More like different clothes for different occasions.
But since the Silhouette Shoots I often join do not allow cal .25, I may lean towards cal .22 Vulcan BP instead.
Thanks Drunk…

sir G, please correct me if I am wrong. I think, the Tactic and the Vulcan bullpup are essentially the same hardware inside. The main difference is the stock.
I am seriously considering the Tactic too. The Ataman BR rifle being inspired from the AI rifle looks prettier than the Tactic. Still, I am for accuracy, out of the box. I am a tinkerer all right, but for that price, I admit, I will not like to tinker, but rather enjoy life shooting. I am not young anymore.
I will look around if I can try to get a feel of how it is to shoot a bullpup. If not, I will saw some planks and try it out.
Thanks much.
Steeldreams: Out of all the guns i’ve watch prior to picking up my Tactic, the most accurate gun out of the box from this forum and from AGN the Vulcan bullpup wins hands down. But it was mostly all talk, everyone saying how great it was not many videos of it doing its thing (like what ted does). I’ve seen some wildcat footage of incredible shooting out to 75 yards i believe, but the stories on the net where hit or miss. The Impact has also been hit or miss being such a new gun and all. NOW the Mutant seems to be what people are buzzing about now a days. Yes the Atman new line up has a lot of people interested but just in hands of enough people to know how its going to perform out of the box. Being a traditional rifle kinda guy all this is a waste of your time 100 yard target shooting is bench rest stuff, and i would think you would go for an FX 400, FX 500 or a Daystate Wolverine B. Something else to think about. Happy shooting.
maybe the Vulcan is trash that is why he is smashing his Vulcan on the floor.
a very strong statement… I am getting convinced now. thanks.

ask sniperqty, he is smashing his Vulcan to the floor on youtube.
thank you sir.
if we really have to go in all wet and soaked with philosophy, everything, from life to death is … all subjective.
but it does not have to be like that.
hobbies come and go, some returning after a long absence. because, whatever it is, it remains within us, remains stored in our psyche. often, earning interest while sitting deep within.
i do mainly target shoot at 100 yards.. and would like to venture farther.
the Tactic was considered, but, the more I look at it, I just could not convince myself that it is pretty to my preference. the first that got praises for being the best high performing new gun our of the box has been the Vulcan .25… so I read about that here.
I was one who screamed for a Vulcan Rifle, even made a post about it many moons ago. The Ataman design looks prettier and sexier to my eyes.
but I want accuracy, every time… all the time.. .from opening the box.
Just bought a 22 Mutant, I just heard they are coming out with a 25 Mutant.
If you like the B/P style and you ever get a chance to shoot a Mutant,
There will be nothing else in your sights,
I am not saying do not buy the Vulcan , I had my trigger finger on one for a while,
BUT, You will buy a Mutant if you get to shoot one, That’s a guarantee or double your money back.
Mike
i am rifleman, through and through.
so it is not so much about the bullpup thing.
my primary draw to the vulcan is the reported, out of the box delivery of accuracy. i have seen how it is that one does things before an ag gets to be really hitting targets.
it is about the accuracy.. hitting the ground running.. right from opening the box.
thanks. and i will look into the mutant. but i dont like the name. sounds like… movie fantasy to me.
I like the 25 caliber , I have a 22 and a 25 Cricket, Earnest tuned,
Just bought a 22 Mutant, I just heard they are coming out with a 25 Mutant.

The Problem is its all subjective. People like what people like, it doesn’t mean that you are going to like it. So the best advice would be check out the map and see if anyone is close to you and try to see if they will let you tag along on a shoot or something. That or drive down to AOA and see if they let people shoot shoot some of there guns. Because at the end of the day if you like your gun you are going to learn to shoot it well. I loved my s510 until i got my Cricket then i loved my s510 a little less and thought the cricket was the bees knees, now i have a Tactic and neither other gun gets much trigger time because i’m too busy dropping pest out to and past 100 yards. Not to say i wasn’t doing that with either of my other guns but this one seems to be the most accurate gun in my cabinet at this time, and most like until my next gun. Its just how it works out. Like it or not its how things go. No two guns are the same. So go out there and spend your money on what your gut is telling you, sure you will be happy learning what you can do with your new gun.

Exactly my point, Ginuwine. Because as far as I noticed, vulcan is very sensitive to the hold.
