Cricket 22 Polymag Jam Fix

Just figured out a free fix for the problem of jamming 22 cal Polymags in the Cricket mags.

This works GREAT for both Predator Polymags and the new Metalmags. You will need clear plastic that you get from just about everything that’s sold in this kind of clear wrapping. The most that I found are .012″ thick you will need to find one that’s a bit thinner about .009″ thick works for me. This device stops the pellets from moving forwards when cocked and prevents it from jamming. Make more then one, I already lost one in the field of green, colored the edge with a red Sharpie helps.

~ GKU, love my Cricket 22 cal standard.

Let is know how the .22 Polymag’s shoot. Might have to try them out myself.

Sure thing.

I’ll be trying them in my FX Revo also but it’ll be doing 930+ fps, betting that accuracy may suffer at that speed.

PolyMag SHORTS are now available at Pyramdair in 177 and 22 cal so far.
I ordered some in the 22 cal and hopefully I don’t need to use my jam fix above.

Does anyone know the BC ?

As Keyser said, the .25 Predators fit the Cricket mag like a glove, no issues.
For what its worth, they also group extremely well in my Cricket. Ive only been able to try one magazines worth, but I shot a 1/2″ 50yd 5 shot group with them! Definitely ordering some and using them exclusively for hunting if they remain that accurate.

Interesting…….. :8:

H&N is a sure bet for Weihrauch line of Airguns. Shoots very average in my Crickets and below average on my EdGuns – back when i had them.
I’m with Zonkster here : once you find a brand/pellet that shoots really well in YOUR Rifle the search is over. Stick to it.
There is one more thing to consider when testing different Pellets and although time/air consuming it’s mandatory for thorough testing. One must try those different Pellets at different velocities. It’s very boring and takes time but it’s the only way to know for sure. Heavier/ longer Pellets , ie , need more speed to get into proper rotation so if your Rifle shoots well with, say, 18 gr Pellets at 900 fps then that same setting og speed isn’t enough to get the needed velocity for 21gr Pellets. And so on …

Way back I had the fetish of tryout every pellet while it was fun it ended up being a waste of time and money. H&N ruled back then still got all the old tins in storage.

I agree with Ville. If you have something that works great stick to it. Most of my shots are head shots so I need all the accuracy I can get. JSBs 18.1 works for me.

Nothing beats JSB’s or JSB made branded stuff, like FX, Air Armsa,EdGun etc. They seem to have even quality again.

Anyone try any of the hollowpoint pellets, like Beemann Crow Magnum, for accuracy with a .22 Cricket? Hard to switch from JSB 18’s since they work so well.

Before I saw this post and ordered my polymag .22 pellets I just figured that I would file the point down with my
sander if I had problems… Maybe more splat,,,

Just FYI the .25s fit in the Cricket without any modification.

Good one, I just ordered a couple of tins of Polymags for my 22 Cricket..
They really impressed me in my 25 Marauder at about 850 fps,, Sparrows would explode, (35 & 48 yards) I hope I get some of the pop back with the 22 Polymags,
I have not done a lot of paper punching or experimenting with my H&N (crow) hollow points, Been to busy shooting sparrows and Euro doves with the 18.13gr JSB s
Have not even tried the chrono yet, Just to fun popping birds..

Plastic films or a generic name for it is “Acetate” film and you can get these colored/tinted too.

Ingeniously simple – simply ingenious ! 😯
