Cricket Carbine-PIC HEAVY-1/9/14Updated groups

I entered a contest Steve was promoting from WWAG. I was 2nd out of 3 contestants…nice odds! Anyhow he gave the option of getting a gift cert for the retail value of the prize. In my case I had won a Webley Raider, I took the gift cert and put that towards a Cricket Carbine. Steve included some nice schwag as well…thanks!

The look of that Carbine is starting to grow on me … Is it just me or does it look a lot like a plain wood stocked Steyr ??
Damn it – now i may have to get me a Carbine too, on top of that elusive Hummingbird.

Brother Btango;

if the group on number 4 at left side is 5 shot group?! then this is good and will refer for that you have improved … nice grouping … well done… go ahead … for 50 mtr or 70 mtr or so…

I just wanted to share some groups I’ve done. This rifle shoots better than me. Here are some groups done yesterday using JSB’s 18 gr pellets. Also wanted to try the “ontarget” software. For those of you that are ontarget guru’s please let me know if I’m doing something wrong.

Thank you for one more time ! Merry Christmas and happy shooting !

Ambidextrous…you can adjust it a little right or left but not much.

Now its more clear to me what you have write ! My english are so so and its easy to make a mistake ! And with your new message i learn and about the different receiver between the two models ! I am thinking for a .25 when i can afford it and the carbine its more close to my liking so thx for one more time !

I am looking for quality btango05 and really i appreciate that you have public the two photos of the trigger blade and all the area ! Thank you very much !
Cheers , Christos !

No problem…what I meant when I said “I don’t know what you’re looking at…” was I don’t know what spring does what. The carbine is different than the bullpup receivers. There is no side door access. The carbine’s receiver is completely enclosed so I assume you have to start popping out retainer pins to see the inner workings of the trigger assembly. I really enjoy shooting the carbine, the trigger is extremely crisp and responsive right out of the box.

I have interest in carbine but the trigger is one point that i have to examine via words and photos of owners ! have you take any photos as you have said ?????

I can’t say what you’re looking at. Its unlike the bullpup, but I will say it is very crisp. Absolutly no wiggle in the trigger blade. The hex screw adds/lessens the weight but only so much. There isn’t a sear adjustment…the trigger blade and the sear are a two peice system. Maybe Ernest will do a video as he did for the bullpup. I am an ameture when it comes to investigating how things work. Besides I’m a bit tipsy as I’v had a few drams 🙂

Hi Brandon,n

Congrats! Both Crickets looked very nice. They compliment each other. Did I said they looked very classy. Shoot string Is very good. Looked like in the 940s. If you use 18.1 grain, it may slows down a bit, maybe pellet more stable. The piece in front of the muzzle, is it baffled? How the noise compare to the bull pup?

Your photos looked amazing. Are you a pro or semi pro photographer? It is nice to see someone takes the time to take beautiful pictures once in awhile.

I noticed that you sold your Edgun and got the Crickets. Do you still have that regulator for the R3? If you are in the Bay Area, I may be interested.
John

Thank you, not a pro/semi pro photographer. I know a little about photography but not enough to take it on as a source of income. You’d be surprised what you could do with a decent camera and lens! Never have owned any Edguns, I think you have me confused with someone else. Yes it’s baffled, it’s slightly louder than the bullpup. I put it this way to a guy on the Yellow. I own an Airwolf w/Huggett and the two Crickets. Airwolf-ant fart quiet, Bullpup-Mouse fart quiet, Carbine-Bunny queef quiet 😀

there are not a good groups for 20 yards, i have less than these 65 mtr away

So true Hemn…so true. I will strive for excellence! Can you pm me links to your posts showing your groups? I would very much like to see .13-.15 inch ctc groups from 65/50meters…that’s really impressive!

I bet he can’t even get under twice that, 6.6mm (0.26″) ctc at 65m (71yards)… 😉
Are your written dimensions outside edge to outside edge of pellet hole (22cal)? I bet things may tighter up with a little less power or the heavier JSB’s… 😉

Lol…yes outside edge where the little grey marks end .22 Yeah I’ll give the 18g’s a go.

With the new Hawke SR Pro reticles I have gotten used to the trajectory designs so the new trajectory reticle would be perfect for me. It allows for equidistant yardage between the elevation graduations eliminating the need for cheat sheets. They are so easy once you get used to them. Also, the windage is designed the same way with the Christmas tree structure.

Aeon has an impressive looking factory. The automated cnc, lens polishing, and coating machines has really narrowed the field on scope qualty in the last few years. While not a Zeiss or Sightron or even the new Delta still you get a very decent scope for about $300 (I still say it is impossible to get a good scope for $200 with the features we want when folks ask but the Chinese are getting very close). The internal mechanicals on these also have tested out very well for repeatbility and robustness I have read in several reviews. The best Chinese factories have come a long ways. These scopes are also designed to capture the airgun market like Hawkes with10 yard focus, etc..

Whoa…you’ve definitely done your homework! I am pleasantly surprised with the Aeon.

How did you pick that reticle over say the New Trajectory Reticule?

To be honest I didn’t put much thought into it. I was planning on buying a Vortex Crossfire, but Steve gave me a big discount including the rings and for that amount of magnification at the price he gave me was worth the chance, Steve even offered to take it back if I wasn’t completely satisfied. I’m glad I did, I like it better than my Hawke Eclipse, in fact I am planning on putting the Aeon on the bullpup and the Eclipse on the Carbine as the Aeon is much shorter than the Hawke.

Which one would you choose?
