Q:

Custom Leather cheek piece for Edgun

I got sick of having freezer burn and sctratches on my right cheek so went off to a local Saddlery for some custom leather work.

Have to say I love it, it was only ยฃ35 and has transformed the feel of the gun, cheek weld is much better and more comfortable, it smells good too.

The cheek area has 6mm of padding between two layers of really soft leather.

MKII is going to have a pellet pouch covering the join on the right side, already discussed with the craftswoman and its going to be sealed to stop pellets coming out, have no corners for pellets to hide in, have a stiff but quiet liner and have magnetic closures (no noisy studs or velcro).

I would have ordered one but the colors aren’t what I liked…I like the original color made by the OP….the color just matches better

and I thought it was me being anal, the match is why I chose that piece of leather ๐Ÿ˜‰

Still waiting on reviews! Anybody?

The new pic is posted in the ad. Thanks

are you talking about the view on the opposite side of the padding? It’s not stretched. I didn’t pay that much attention to it when I put it on. You can adjust it somewhat. I’ll readjust it and post another pic tomorrow

Hey cal I noticed that the cheek rests you made are stretching out towards the back of the stock were the curve is…compared to the original we’re it didn’t show stretching

Guys, the leather cheek rest is done. My friend brought the finished product by this afternoon. Details and pics are in the buy/sell section

Thanks! Done. Iยดve send a request thru email.

Do you think one can order directly thru her ? Does she still have your original drawing ?? I quess she could send one to Sweden …[/quote]

Sir

I told Katie she may get some requests to make more, she said that would be no problem.

I left the pattern that I produced with her.

Give it a go ๐Ÿ˜›

Once I get the finished product in hand, I’ll post details and contact info.

I just contacted my local saddlery and asked if they could replicate the cheek pad…and they informed me that they cannot make one unless they have one to work of off….I sent them the pictures with the measureing tape next to it and they informed me that they cannot replicate something from a picture. They need the physical item. ๐Ÿ™

not sure whats up with American leathersmiths – I simply made a pattern from paper, took it and the gun to the workshop, two minutes discussion she said no problem, I went back a few days later and it was done – spot on ๐Ÿ˜•

come on fellas get a grip, you guys put men on the moon ๐Ÿ˜€

Lol I’m sure someone will come around with a nice one….looks like we already have a lot of people interested…only time will tell.

quote Urgirlinmyjetta:

On the regular….yes someone could easly have taken the measurements from the picture and made a replica of the cheek pad…BUT!!!! I live in New York City and I had called a place in manhattan….so right there tells you why they couldn’t do it off a picture….too much of a pre Madonna….they want their job to be made so easy…but want to charge you an arm and a leg for doing something I probably could do if I had the leather and a sowing machine….so in a way I’m glad she told me she couldn’t do it….

I am sure one of the very helpful gents on this forum will sort this out and you will end up with a warm cheek ๐Ÿ˜›
