Q:

Custom Leather cheek piece for Edgun

I got sick of having freezer burn and sctratches on my right cheek so went off to a local Saddlery for some custom leather work.

Have to say I love it, it was only £35 and has transformed the feel of the gun, cheek weld is much better and more comfortable, it smells good too.

The cheek area has 6mm of padding between two layers of really soft leather.

MKII is going to have a pellet pouch covering the join on the right side, already discussed with the craftswoman and its going to be sealed to stop pellets coming out, have no corners for pellets to hide in, have a stiff but quiet liner and have magnetic closures (no noisy studs or velcro).

I ran into a post on the yellow. Someone has already done the leg work in contacting a leather guy here in the US, the website is Levergunleather.com and the person is willing to make these for us Edgun owners. The only thing missing is the pattern, once I get a hold of that I can pass it on to the original poster on the yellow who seems to be having an issue logging onto TAG, I’m basically the middle man but I want to see this through as I would love to have something like this for my 25 standard.

Lol Moore….I looked up that web site, and those people aren’t even American!!!

I would like to have her make me a leather sheath for a stainless steel 24″ machete I had made. It’s 440 stainless, and holds an edge sharp enugh to shave with, but it has cut every sheath I’ve tried.

Horse hide would be nice and tough. I’m fairly certain they soak those horses in sea water before they are slaughtered, and then send the meat to France.

I just finished my “CCM” license class here in Arkansas. (CCM = Concealed Carry-Machete) in case our politicians pass more gun control laws. There is talk of developing an exciting new class on self defense, the “CCF” option. (Concealed Carry-Flamethrower) Perfectly safe, all propane fueled, with instant electronic ignition. You can purchase, at slight extra cost, the “Spiderman Wrist Nozzle” which requires three AAA Lithium batteries for the igniter, but I hear it’s well worth the extra expense!

These are uncertain times here in the Colonies, and most folks around these parts are stockpiling guns, ammunition, ammonium nitrate/diesel fuel, and raising cone snails in their basements to milk them for venom.

If a body desires a bit of extra punch in their customized self defense flame throwing package, you can mix the cone snail venom with the propane, when filling your miniature flame thrower. The “MPFT” (Man Portable Flame Thrower) is a new product spin-off from “Bic”, the folks who made throw-away cigarette lighters. They feel it’s a growing market, and sell a ten second burn, refillable, model that fits inside your shirt/blouse for $250 USD. The Spiderman option is another $75 USD, but is really convenient for women, the elderly, and disabled.

Anyway, it’s Sunday night and I’ll try to contact the leather-smith tomorrow on the leather sheath. They don’t show an email address. At least none that I could find. I’m hoping I can get my leather sheath embossed with an American Bald Eagle, wings outspread, talons choking a snake, and flames shooting out the snake’s ass!!! Now THAT sends a message!

When I was a young man, I used to purchase horse hide condoms. They were reusable, and didn’t shrink when boiled. They attached to you with a strap that went around the small of your back, and…rather oddly, had two leather thongs that extended down, and fit around your big toes!! During the physical act of love, you had to continually kick your feet, like a frog swimming, on every “up-stroke”, to ensure the condom stayed in place. You lubed them up beforehand with Neatsfoot oil just prior to use, and they came in really nice leather pouches. They’d last forever, but went out of favor when latex came alone. Just as well…some guys found them cumbersome, and didn’t like kneading them with the Neatsfoot oil for ten minutes prior to use, so’s they’d get soft enough to put on.

People simply don’t have the time or patience to properly use quality, long lasting, products anymore. Times have changed.

my friend stopped by today to take measurements. He is going to put one together tomorrow at the shop. He’ll bring it by after work and we’ll see how it fits. He’s making one out of vinyl first to check the fitment, then will make them out of leather

I have had a few requests to buy one of these and have no interest in making anything from them myself

so I see two choices:

you can contact the saddle maker who made mine (she still has the paper pattern I made)

http://www.southdownsaddlery.com/

or I can scan the one I have with a scale in the scan, from that you can cut your own pattern and get one made 😀

Not sure how to get the scan PDF on here though ❓

I just sent you a PM, Get back to me when you can, I can probably help you out with the PDF to image conversion.

He’s supposed to stop by sometime this week to take the measurements. I’ll keep you posted

i would like one also
thx
Earl

Keep us posted!

I’m still interested.

Gabe G.

I showed the pics to a friend of mine and he is going to see how hard it is to make one. He said after he makes the first one, he can make more.

Firecracker is doing the best he can, even if it does look a bit awkward.

It still looks better than the maxi-pads I tried!

It would appear the leather solution would work for the Cricket as well, just the addition of a slot for the side lever.

Kindest regards to all,

😀 😀 😀 got a mental image of you shooting in the rain with a cheek piece swollen to size of a pillow 😀 😀 😀
