I think we all agree the barrel is the most important part of the gun. Without a proper barrel the rest is just a piece of rubbish even if the construction is a masterpiece of engineering.
Make it possible to shoot below reg without damage. (foolproof)
The 2mm valve stem will work, properly hardened.
Fill it up to 300 bar (foolproof)
Give the barrels a good check before accepting them from manufacturor.
Semi auto is better than multishot.
Hst adjusting without disambling the stock.

I am with Robert, I would like to adjust the HST without removing the stock.
Pippo because I am American we are taught to operate the charging handle with our left hand. We are even taught to shoot the AK this way. We call if the AK roll left hand goes up and over or down and over. Using my left hand to operate the charging handle is just natural to me.

Keyser, how many shots did you shoot to kill these eggs at 250y?
Keyser are you a lefty and/or are there lefty Matadors?
Sounds awkward to me cycling with the left hand a bolt that is protruding to the right side.
Certainly your hunting buddy is slower, you must have some octopus capabilities.
In no way I can be considered like being a real/professional marksman but when I was a child I’ve been taught shooting by an uncle that was some kind of professional hunter and what he always told me was “less you move when shooting and better it is, only calm and slow movements, slow breathing, eyes always on the target, pulling the trigger with the brain and not with the finger, etc, etc”.
Now thinking about unshouldering the rifle, cycling from left to right, moving the eye away from the target, taking again position, etc, etc, certainly is a very different kind of shooting.
I have to admit, Geyser is a pretty good shot. 250 yds eggs that’s insane. The only part that sucks is having to walk to your targets.
Solution?? Get an RC car, mount a target on it and selfie stick with a Go-Pro. Reduce the need for walking.

Wingman thanks for the feedback, I definitely respect your airgun knowledge. I have learned a lot reading your post over the years. From experience I can tell you the 3 mm valve made a huge difference. I really like the magazine version if for nothing else it provides a nice place to hold pellets. Often times there are 5-7 squirrels sitting together (especially this time of year) and the magazine allows me to get 4 of them before they can run back to their holes.
I too have owned them all (well most). I have a lot of hunting and shooting experience with different brands. The side cocking lever is a gimmick. I understand why Ed is going to make one on his new Lelya (I am hoping he’ll offer it with a smaller Matador stock) because he has to follow market trends. With my rear bolt Matadors I just use my left hand to cycle the bolt and I am ready for the next shot. My hunting buddy has a Vulcan. I am much quicker with my Matador at getting a second shot off than he is when we are competing for squirrel kills.
How/where do you put your pellets? Do you have one of those ugly homemade holders taped to the gun or some fancy pellet pouch? If you have a pellet pouch around your neck does not the pellets risk being damaged from it swinging around in terrain? Just wondering how it works 😉

I have never to date missed a chance of multiple kills due to the inabillity to load another pellet fast enough. Its more about target selection and understaning your game.
The R3M was a step in the wrong direction IMO as with many changes Ed made to the matador because of customer wants.

The ring now fits more snug on the upper receiver transfer port it doesn’t just float on top of the regulator exhaust port.
Yes I am going to have a little tool made for the breech ring. I got mine out with snap ring pliers but I have an idea to make a small socket with 4 protruding pins . This I think would make removing the ring super simple.
